Please dont judge me, but isn't that a little much per diode. Also will you have the option available to have it pressed into a aixiz module with leads soldered on for a little extra money?

You could go buy one in the group buy for $40, but it will take a month or more to get it. This one you can get in about 3 days.

And that is if the group buy ever gets filled and you trust the person to harvest the diodes correctly.;)

I can do that as long as my modules last. I will have to check how many I have.

It looks like the going rate for that is $5 for the module and $5 for the leads.;)

Hi, were ESD cautions observed (was the harvest static free)?

Thanks,

Certainly was. Have not lost a diode to ESD yet.

Excellent!

If you don't mind me asking, how do you test the diodes without installing it in a heat sink or module (or soldering wires to the diode)?

Thanks,

It often makes me wonder what the average person does to the diodes to make it so common for them to fail, or be worried about leads getting soldered onto them. You've got to be really careless to kill a diode (assuming it's not defective to begin with) I think people worry too much.

I agree. The only ways I ever "kill diodes" is by intentionally juicing them with way too much current or crack the window while installing them into modules. I have diode press tools now though so the latter doesn't happen anymore.

The projector is powered on with the array out of the casing to inspect for any dead or damaged diodes before extraction.;)

hey have you actually killed one with too much current. I every time I have over juced one it just goes off and comes back on when I turn it down. Or are you talking about a spike from an undischarged driver. I have had one die this way. I also broke a pin off one once.
