Lol. Competing with stone tech? Have you ever though about pricing according to performance?

Well it is the Christmas season.;)

Nope that would not be a good way to go. It is the luck of the draw when you get a diode. Plus testing them all for efficiency would be a huge time consuming process. After all the work the regular ones would still be the same price and the super efficient ones would be an arm and a leg. Check out the one CD520 got. It was giving 1.79W @ 1.5A. That is great. And there really are not bad ones just the rare super efficient one.

How did you did the one for your 2.1W?

Huh.

I am assuming you asked how I got one like that. If I am building a unit and notice the diode is very efficient I will turn it up to 1.8A Instead of just a 1.5A unit.;)

If I BUILD A UNIT and discover that it is very efficient I will crank it up. If a unit is all put together(IE BUILT) you can test it on your LPM. Let me just skip to the end of where you are trying to go with this. The diodes that people order from me still have the ribbon on them. There is no way to test with the ribbon on. So if you order a diode you will get the same odds of a freak diode as anybody.

I wasnt saying that you do, and I know:). In the Op it sayys... Lemme get the quote... sec

" This unit sports an extremely efficient diode that I have been saving for a special unit. This diode was previously tested giving an output of 1.75W @ 1.5A on my bench so I saved it for a host that I thought would be worthy"

did you pop the diode out of a heatsink for this?

It was in a module. I have an extraction tool from Flaminpryo. And I must say it works great.:D

That diode was for a 1.6W MXDL I was building but it was giving 1.75W @ 1.5A. So I pulled it and saved it for a large 26650 Ehgemus host.;)

Got home to find my diode waiting for me, great packaging by the way, tons of bubble wrap and also in an antistatic bag

Plus rep!
