SOLD: 520nm! PL520 in Trustfire A8 Host !!!

Another laser to sell…

This one is not very powered, but one of the more rare laser diodes out there. This laser is brand new, used only to thoroughly test the build. The components I used are:

Osram PL520 520nm Diode in Copper Module
X-Drive set at 290 mA
Trustfire A8 Host
Three Element Glass Lens
2x 16340 or 18350 batteries (3.7v)

Price: SOLD Shipped in the USA (international shipping can be discussed)

Although the price may seem high for a low wavelength diode, this wavelength diode is fairly rare. Profit is not much of a concern for my sales, I sell most of my lasers at nearly cost to produce others.

As mentioned in the title the laser’s output is 73mW, although it is not included, you can expect around 95mW with a G-2 lens.

That's a nice looking, and beefy host, for a PL520. This build is at a great price...you shouldn't down play it at all in your thread.

For anyone who doesn't know, the cost of the diode and driver alone for this beauty, make up more than half the cost!

Good luck on your sale. Come payday, you should have no problems finding this beauty a good home.

Duty cycle? It seems the laser is spaced for 2x 16340? What would you need to do to make it 1x 18650?

The PL520 has such a high Vf that you'd get very little efficiency from a boost driver (what you'd need). This diode works better with a buck driver, and @ only ~300mW, even the 16340s will give a good, long run time between charges. As far as duty cycle goes, I cannot say with this host.

As scum said, the host is using an X-Drive because of the voltage required, so it requires the two 16340s to provide enough voltage for the driver (18350's also work too).

As for the duty cycle, a specific determination was not made, but to my knowledge it would be several minutes on. The diode doesn't generate an extreme amount of heat, and this particular host is an overkill amount of heat sinking, I chose it purely for aesthetic reasons. So although this host could handle a much more powerful diode, I just like the look of it with the 520nm wavelength.
