This is not a used laser. It is assembled with all NEW components and has been used only for testing and beam-shots.

I chose the best components available for this laser for the best balance of power and stability in a compact form.
The asterisk * after the duty cycle spec is there because I want to make it clear that these high power blue diodes make a lot of heat. That is unavoidable.
Considering the small size of this host, there is not a lot of mass to collect heat. The laser is intended to be used as a momentary on-off laser and performance will be best if it is not used for extended periods at a time.
However, the advantage of using a small host with little mass is that it cools off quickly. I will recommend a short duty cycle just to be conservative. If you ask me, this is the limit for a host this size. Any more power and heat and power constraints will have an effect on performance.
That said, this laser packs a lot of power for its size. It is built to be a robust "EDC" (every day carry) laser pointer for pointing out stars, showing off to friends, or whatever you like to use lasers for.
