THIS LASER IS SOLD

I bought this Aquarius laser form Yobreasal as a broken unit. I never got around to repairing it. With the introduction of the 445nm diodes, I figured I will never finish the repair job. I have a working Aquarius.

So I thought, what the heck! I'll make a cool looking 445nm pointer :) I modified it to take an aiXiz module and two CR2 batteries.

The resulting laser is here for sale

The laser has the 445nm diode. It uses the Groove2 driver set at 400mA. It is powered by two rechargeable 3.7V CR2 size batteries. It has an AixiZ 405 glass lens. The lens sits under the Aquarius' aperture, but you can remove the aperture (it unscrews) if you want to change the focus. I have it focused at ~30 feet now.

It will come with two 3.7V rechargeable CR2 batteries. You will have to pick up a charger for them. When looking for a charger keep in mind that there are 3V and 3.7V CR2's. You will want the 3.7V charger

With the AixiZ glass lens, it is putting out 400mW WITHOUT the aperture in place. The combination of the AixiZ 405 glass lens and the Aquarius' aperture makes the spot very nice. However, that nice spot comes at a cost of about 80mW. The aperture "cuts off" part of the edge of the beam.

The resulting laser feels very solid in the hand. The Aquarius has nice heat sinking. I have run it for up to 60 seconds with no discernible heat at the module.

SOLD It is offered here for $250 shipped.

This is a "used" host. There are a couple of blemishes on the host. There is some very minor scratches on the aperture cap. There are a couple of very small "chips" in the paint. Both of these blemishes were too small for me to get a picture of them. Yes, we all know that my photographic skills suck :yabbem:. There is also a spot, opposite the button, where there is a flaw in the paint job. That one I could get a pic of

Re: FS: 400mW, 445nm in Aquarius Host

is that a ladder in the living room?
But that is amazing i think that is the most inconspicuous 445nm laser i have ever seen.
it looks small but packs a huge punch.
is it made out of copper?
