Hi all. I am entertaining offers on my completed Kryton Groove with >3W 9mm 445 diode and Blitzbuck driver. Finalization of the sale will occur when my PayPal dispute is cleared up, or if someone is willing to use Google Wallet.

Here is the host, hand polished by yours truly.

Here is the diode in the Kryton head, being directly driven:

That's well over 3W @ 2.43A!
The Blitzbuck is tuned to ~2.4A and the diode has a >3W output!
Duty cycles for this diode/host combination should be limited to no more than 60seconds with 60seconds cool down time!

The host was fully sanded to removed anodizing across the ground path, per Mohrenberg's instructional email. Arctic Ceramic was used to press fit the diode. The diode head/heatsink and the focus head remain anodized to preserve protective finish.

Thanks for looking!

Re: Pre-Sale: 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

This is beautiful! I regret selling my Kryton Groove I got in the Kenom GB years ago! Good luck with your sale and getting Paypal sorted out. If they are within the US you could always request Postal Money Order as payment method. No fees that way, either. I believe that is how Hak likes to operate.

Very nice laser, this time try to know better who you're selling it to. Best of luck in your sale.

Re: Pre-Sale: 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

Thanks guys. Clif shipped out the buck driver for it. I'd like an idea from the members whether y'all would prefer a whole 3W out of this, or a bit of a lower output for slightly longer duty cycles. There isn't much room for heatsinking the driver in those Krytons.

That is quite a powerhouse  I would suggest to bump it up a little more :eg: j/k .. I think 3W itself is a benchmark, Even if you run it at 2.1Amp there still is a LOT of power so its really upto you.. But i wouldnt go over 2.15-2.25A

Re: Pre-Sale: 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

Thanks, Sinner. It's going to take ~ 2.3A to get 3W out of the Kryton. I suppose I could leave the final output/driver setting up to the buyer, if they wanted.

I just don't want someone pissed off because they cannot run this skinny Kryton for a half hour because it's getting hot...

Re: Pre-Sale: 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

Nice work and great polishing! I hope you have less issues with this one...Good luck:beer:

Re: Entertaining Offers: >3W 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

Bump!

This is complete and running @ >3W!

I am now entertaining offers.

Re: Sale Pending: >3W 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

A tentative agreement has been struck. Sale on this item is pending.

Re: Sale Pending: >3W 9mm Polished Kryton Groove

Yeah that's going to be a sweet laser. I'm only running my 9mm diode at 1.8A and can still easily set paper on fire, and completely burn holes through 1/4" wood in about 30 seconds.
And that's with a dirty and chipped lens (I had never extracted the lens from a 9mm diode and apparently was too rough on it)

Oh, it's already sweet...I am kind of regretting putting it up. That's why I am buying another Kryton from you, so I can have a single-mode 450! I don't need something this ungodly powerful. I already have 2W to play with.

This Kryton has been purchased by Lazerbeak. I do hope and trust that he will really enjoy this fat diode in such a thin host!

I've taken a few orders for identical builds. I'll keep taking them as long as I can get the hosts.

That's great news, Matt! I'll be placing another order next week.

If anyone wants to get in on the next order, PM me.

Hey, LB! I am so glad that you're thrilled with your laser! This is the kind of work you'll be getting from me in the future.

I can't wait to prototybe and unleash my new creations!
