Hey lazeerer, was the driver in that laser your own design? It does NOT look like a flexdrive, couldn't be anyway cause a single flexdrive could never hit that wattage, and I don't know of any other boost driver that will hit 2 watts even with a G1, unless you happened to stumble across a real freak diode and a flexdrive that actually can hit 1.5A.

And, I know of no linear drivers that are designed to kcik out enough current to hit 2 watts with a 445nm diode and run off a single 3.7V cell.

I'm intrigued?

stumped, but intrigued!

Its called the X-Drive Which is my design.;) Look up X Drive there is a few different version and posts sales Ive done with them.

Its a Buck Not Linear.

It range is 0-2.3A and runs of 2 cells not 1 for 445nm.

I dont care for single cell build much. If it can fit a 18650 it can fit 2x 16340 and sometimes 2x 18350's and so on.

Any boost like driver running at 1.5A and Higher your going to need some serious heatsinking as they get stupid hot. In this build the diode was running at 1.75A IIRC and was doing Nearly 2.1W:

The Driver is very efficient and Does not need heatsinking at this currant but i put it anyway.:)

All diodes i use in builds like this are cherry picked out of the projector. You have to have the best of the best for 2W builds. If the diode is even a little inefficient it will not last long before it dies.

If the Diode cannot do 2W at 1.7A forget it. I dont use it. THis is with the G1/G2 lens.
