Yea, but the 635 will be costly since you need better optics to keep the beam from diverging and a pain in the ass to align.

It would certainly take an elaborate setup, the question is, how
small can it be made

Ill stick with 650nm for now, then lose some sleep thinking about
the next one..

LOL, no car magazine pics here, I will post a pic of it in my hand to
help scale it.. It's slightly larger than my last dual LD build, the pics
were done close and length wise im assuming the effect is there to make
it appear larger..

It looks at least the size of a maglite in those pictures...

11-12" for this kind of power is really not that big at all.

Not the greatest pic, but this may help the scale a bit... Its just a tad longer
than the first one I made...

I should mention that using in lieu of a nighstick voids the warranty :D

Where have I heard this before

If I didnt add the top cap fins, it would be around 10in. I figured the additional length
wouldnt look bad considering the length of the handle, and the way it fits in the hand..
The internal head on this was a bit longer than the corrected version, so I left some
extra length just in case. Last thing you want is to run out of room and not be able
to fit the drivers, or something critical at the last minute..

Lol. Please don't tell us.

Earlier today I read a cnn article about rick santorum... and googled. One of those mental images that will haunt me, is now forever associated with that politician:barf:

Edit: It is entirely possible you meant something else completely, but I do have the mind of a dirty old man:eg:

wow that's a nice long host with a nice laser in it. but 799 is a lot of money. it's worth it, but it is too much for me. it's almost the same price as the wl sith. this one is 1000x better.:gj::topic:
i 2nd that. Good Job Wannaburn, Most powerful handheld ever seen. On top of that it is not the conventional rear on/off switch, but a side momentary button. With 2 years warrantee, omfg gfg. good luck! Too bad you aint the time to make more. If you could mass produce, one of the good way for you to generate dollars

Each one takes so much time, dont think 'mass production' is realistic for me..
This I would say is the 2nd most powerful just under the 3.5W + beam correction
linked in my sig..

This one was made with standard lenses to cut the price down a bit, but also
loses an extra watt in the process..

The output could have been a bit higher, but didnt want to overdrive the diodes.
That would work against the concept of an array..
