As the title says.

It's built with Jayrob's chrome pen kit, one of Lazeerer's amazing X-switch drivers, an M-140 diode and 405-G-1 lens from DTR, and with a custom stainless focus ring made by the one and only Flaminpyro. This one is a little special because I also had Jeff make an aluminum heatsink for the back of the copper module for extra mass and heat dissipation. Every bit helps!

Output is well over 1W, however my LPM is a second generation Laserbee and since it's so old I won't trust it for an accurate reading. It's bright and will set stuff on fire if you're into all that.

For those that don't know me, I've made LOTS of pens and sold most of them. This one is probably one of my best, the other being a 9mm 445 pen I made for TheDukeAnumber1. This is not a flimsy, rattly piece of junk like those Dealextreme pens. It's a solid build. TBH I want to keep it but I want a new camera more.

It's in good condition, hardly used. Cosmetically, 9.7/10 (minor finish marks on host from nylon sheath).

Here's a list of some past projects so you can see how I build my lasers (oldest to newest):

The build RA_p made for me is high quality in every sense, has stood the test of time plus a little abuse, and has earned an A#1 rating from me. Part of me wants to buy this one too :)

Thanks Daniel, I've been lusting after one of your high power pens for a long time! :D

I'll take good care of it.
I hope you enjoy your new camera, and don't forget to share some photos with us!

I've had this beautiful chrome pen for a while now, and have had a chance to check the actual output with my LPM, using a couple of different cells for comparison.

Both were fully charged to 4.2V:

  • Ultrafires that were provided with the pen - 1389mW.
  • AW's - 1401mW.

The outputs were surprisingly close, and (to me anyway) surprisingly high! :yh:
This is a great build by Mr. Pierce, so if you ever get a chance to own one of his pens, go for it!

Here's a couple of pics of this beast.

You wouldn't be able to make a 520nm 100mW pen in a copper host could you? There a guy that's been asking me about copper pen hosts.
Requirements:
side switch
Copper body
100mW minimum.
