SOLD to JMillerDoc

I bought this laser from rhd last April, and I've only used it about 5 times since for about 30 seconds each. As cool as lasers are, this one especially, I have other things that need to take precedence in my life.

This sale is a full laser package for anyone from novice to expert. It's in a wonderfully designed host and heatsink, and will include Batteries, charger, TWO pairs of goggles, one from scopeguy20, and the other is a set of BluBlocker Brand sunglasses that significantly reduce the laser dot. I do not recommend using the BluBlockers if you are going to be staring directly at the dot for burning purposes and the like, but they work for when you want to show the laser off to your friends in a safe manner at a good distance. Also included is a silly carrying/storage case I made.

Specs: 1.6W 445nm Raw Optical, 1.4W with glass coated 445 lens. Never got around to buying a 405-G-1 to put in... :(
Runs on two 18350 (included) or rcr123 (not included but these fit very loosely).
the driver is a DDL layout using a 1085 IC
Pics: I'm sorry for the low quality, they were taken from my iphone. The beam is focusable, and unlike what you see in the pictures, it has about a 1/8" dot at 10 feet when focused to "infinity".

Im asking $165 shipped in the USA, with priority mail tracked and insured. I'm willing to ship out of country at buyers expense, but the buyer assumes all responsibility as soon as I drop the package off at the post office. I will not be held responsible for lost, stolen, or customs-related issues.

I don't totally want to give up my love for lasers, so if you have a well manufactured greenie, for example a WL core or E2, we can talk about a trade.

Please PM me for PayPal, and the first "I'll take it" at my asking price is unconditional. Buyer has 24 hours to send PP once they've stated "I'll take it", after that the laser goes back up for sale.

Oh god, that guy was a BEAUTY. The heatsink was designed by Helios, and I have to say that it is probably my favorite heatsink design yet. His work was amazing. This was such a joy of a laser to build.

Never thought I'd see her again :)

EDIT: I think the heatsink needs to be shown here :) The whole driver is encased in that kapton-taped cut-out, with the IC arctic silvered (if memory serves) to the aluminum:

Hey i may be interested? WHat is the duty cycle on this and is it possible for you to LPM?

Take a look at the original sales thread that is linked in mine. The lpm info is there, and the recommended duty cycle from rhd to me was 4 minutes on, 1 off. He did push this laser to 10+ minutes in another thread, with absolutely no adverse effects. I haven't done anything like that, so the laser is still in that exact same condition to the best of my knowledge. I notice that like me, you have a low post count. So just a little tidbit of info- duty cycle on a laser is determined by the size of the heatsink, and as you can see in rhd's picture above this laser has a HUGE heatsink, and the driver is placed in a spot that has great thermal dissipation capabilities as well.

Money sent...looks like this one is mine! How exciting, this is my first high powered blue laser....my very first is a green 300mw which is still very cool...this is clearly in another league altogether.

Any idea how many hours of use is left on this diode?

Re: SPF:1.6W 445nm, Huge heatsink, incl goggles x2, made by rhd.

445 lasers usually last a good long time, and especially with this one in a monster heatsink, I think you'll wear out before it does. Any direct diode laser is kind of like an LED, as long as you treat it right, it just keeps going.... and going.... and going. Just follow the recommended duty cycle, 4 (or shorter) minutes on, 1 off, and be smart. If it gets hot, give it a break. Don't rapidly repeatedly turn it on and off either... its not bad for the diode, but it will burn the driver out very quickly.
