This is another laser I built. It uses the new blue diode that can emit 462nm light.
Notice that this laser has slight wear on the edges of the host.

Here are the Specs:
Diode: Nichia Ndb7675 @ 2.4 amps
Power output: ~2 watts
Wavelength: 462nm-467nm (depends on the current)
Host: 501b host w/custom focusing knob.
Batteries: x4 rcr123a 3.0v w/charger and car charger
Lens: g-2
Driver: 2.4a x-drive
This laser will come with a modified screw driver for re-tightening the heatsink becuase the heatsink likes to loosen up the module every once in a while.

I am asking for $120 :)

You forgot to list driver details.

+Rep for an awesome laser. I am just confused as to why you are pushing the NDB7675 to 2.4 amps? I have the same exact diode and mine is running at 1.9 amps and I get 1.98 watts. I am also using a G-2 lens. Has this laser been metered?

What he's doing is smart (IMO). You don't buy an NDB7675 for raw power, you buy it for wavelength and perceived brightness, both of which are maximized by pushing to the 2.4 to 2.8A range.

2.4A is a relatively conservative current for this diode in my view.

It's what exactly what I'm doing. Due to the structure of the diode, I've pushed this up to 3 amps, yes, three whole amps. It took it like no problem. Wouldn't recommend it though ;)

3A is basically where the diode dies - there's a very sharp curve right at about 2.95 or 3A that takes it downward very quickly to the diode's true death (it peaks over 480nm in the process).

Good luck on the sale. If others saw the difference side by side with a standard blue they would have to have this. Would get rid of all my blues before my 462nm. Mines at 2.4A also pushing 2.2W and one VERY beautiful blue;)
That's a great looking focus adapter. Did you buy it somewhere or make it?

Edit- Oops mines the M462 2W

I might be interested, but you don't even show that it works... no beam shots, no comparisons to 445nm to truly see the wavelength.... nothing

I don't have a camera that can show the compairison very well, just think of a blue with no purple tint into it. :)

Re: Fs: 1.4w 462nm 501b $160

It would sell if you had pics of it working and better shots of the host marks as a working diode/module assembly with G-2 costs more than the whole unit.
Doesn't have to be comparison shots of a 455/450 but just a couple beam shots;)

I've been intrested but was waiting for some updated photos

Customs focus knob? Replaceable? With something more minimalistic?

I bought one from Eghemus a while ago, I could ask him to make more. And yes it screws on to a normal lens barrel.
