I had fun building this. :D
PHR-803T diode, 100 mW @ 110 mA, $75 with free shipping to the continental United States, and $10 for shipping anywhere else.

Pay-Pal only.

It is very solidly built.
The beam is very strong. It can be seen clearly at night, and dimly in a lit area.

Total, it has probably been turned on for less than an hour. It still has a very long life left in it....

PM me for info. :)

I'd giv $25 tops. But seriously, it's probably best if you keep it. The sentimental value (no homo) of keeping your first-made laser is worth more than you'll get for it. (I'm guessing it's your first made).

The parts alone are worth more than $25... then you need to remember the WORK that went into it. $50-60 would seem more reasonable.

$35 shipped is my offer.

$12 for the PHR sled shipped
$>10 for the driver "i see its an offbrand cheapy" even if it had a flexV4 in there it would still not be worth it.
$3 for the project box "just bought the same size one today at RS"
$3 for 9v battery and wire.
$4 for aixiz module + lens

$25-$28 worth of parts MAX... oh, 0.49cents for the 9v plug

Not trying to knock on you or nuthing, but the quality is below par, it is used, and the driver looks to be un-reliable. no one will ever pay $110 plus shipping for this.

I sell 110mW Blu-ray pocket mini's for $120 shipped... see what im sayin... pocket mini... or project box... wich would thyne choose?

What tells you that the quality is below par?

$15 for the work it took to build it (you of all people should appreciate that, since it's less than what you charge)

I fixed your post.. always give people a chance to make a little money if it's something they built themselves.

And let's not just expect people to sell DIY items for simply the cost of parts or less. If the quality is decent, they should definitely be allowed to try to make a little profit without people biting their heads off about it.

Quality looks fine to me.

$100 is a bit much to ask, I agree. o0ICE0o, You would have a better time selling it on ebay, but be careful how you list it or ebay will pull the listing. I agree with Diachi. $50 on LPF would be fair.

i bit no-ones head off, i told him i WASNT knocking on him. and offered him the highest offer YET.

i would call a project box instead of a host, poor quality for $110, and i stand my ground on that one.

AND!!! also notice i qouted $25-$28 for parts, THEN OFFERED $35 TOTAL FOR THE LABOR!! "and i USED to only charge $10 so :p

So yes i understand!, but there was no need to do that electro.

so please show me where i bit his head off plase? i made him a legitimate offer ten dollars higher than anyone else did, so whats the problem with that?

I give everyone a chance to make money, you dont see me undercutting people, OR ripping them off. plus ALL my parts are new. so yes he does deserve the right to make some money, but those parts are used, god knows how old the diode is, and that driver is one i've never even used before, meaning its off the beaten path as far as drivers go.
so its actually a big GAMBLE, who knows if it will last.

But anyways, no need to edit my posts electro. it was a positive posting at that, offering HIM money! so lets leave it be.

im DEF not buying this thing now...

Let me get this straight.. since you are apparently the definitive expert in DIY lasers, any driver you've never seen before is crap, right? Please forgive me for stepping on your toes, O Learned One.

Also, the "laser in a project box" design has been around LONG before you showed up here, so I wouldn't just jump to the conclusion that doing things this way is bad. It's bad IN YOUR OPINION, which is worth precisely the same amount as anyone else's opinion. With lower-powered diodes like PHRs it's a perfectly acceptable way to do things.

You told him you weren't "knocking" his sale after you had already knocked his sale.

According to your math, you say you offered him ~$28 for all the parts and an additional $35 for labor? In your original post you offered him $35 total for the laser. That would be $28 for parts, maybe $3.00 to ship, and $4 for labor.

The truth of the matter is, you know nothing about this laser except how it looks. The soldering appears sound, the driver is commercially made, so there's little chance of improper construction, and you have no idea whether the diode is used. It looks better than many "project box" lasers I've seen.

I apologise if I ruined a sale by posting, but it really pisses me off that you would post here and bash on this laser when you know nothing about it. You say you posted a positive post? Where exactly is the positive part? Buried between the parts where you belittle the laser's construction and the parts used perhaps?

I'm done posting here, as I don't want to hijack the thread over this, but next time you want to make a "positive" post, I'd skip it.

I hope that that is all out of the way...
Taking head of your ranting, I have changed the price to $75 with free shipping to the continental United States, and $10 for shipping anywhere else.

no, no heatsink. But that's pretty much alright as long as you do duty cycles. However, usually lab style project box ones are meant to last a while, which this won't necessarily do...

I mean, I don't want you to take this the wrong way or anything, but I'm just saying that this probably won't sell for $75, and only MAYBE would sell for $50 shipped. Prices these days have gone down. Drivers are getting cheaper, diodes are cheaper than they used to be (I mean, I remember when PHRs for $15 were a STEAL.... let alone they used to be like $30 or more). Meanwhile, at the same time, people began switching from project boxes and altoid tins to flashlight hosts (which are now basically the standard hosts everyone uses).

So really, I would like $75 for my project box builds, but I don't bother trying to sell it cause I doubt I'll get anything worthwhile for it. I keep them since they represent the beginning days of when I started with lasers. It's probably best you keep it, especially if you don't have any others. (Unless you really need money/hate lasers now. lol)
