Sell me a laser diode driver(+LD if possible)

Well, I started to build Daedals LD driver, but I had almost no parts that were needed and radioshack doesn't have ANY of the ones I need. The half-ass circuit didn't work at all!

So I just said F*** it.

I'm just gonna buy one off the first person that gives me the best price.

if you could sell a LD with it, that would be great!

I have
PayPal

If Daedal himself can sell me one, that would be great!

Well I know SenKat is preparing me a package with the driver bits in and stuff for a little bit extra with instructions and stuff, so it might be an idea to msg him about it, that way you will have the satisfaction of building yourself a driver.

I can do that for anyone that likes - PM me for details

Absolutely!

If you can give me the price of a driver+2 LD that will work.  Then you have a definite sale! Make it a fair price though.

It would be great if it could arrive already assembled! My soldering iron is not for fine soldering jobs.

I would have to buy another iron and the less money spent the better. I was lucky to half-ass the last driver with the big iron, but it looked horrible and didn't work.

so could you send me a complete driver?

put the individual price of each(the completed driver and 2 LDs) and the shipping.

thanks! :D

Well... what are you going to be putting it in? I have some blank circular PCB boards with terminals on the bottom for flashlight circuits if you'd like. ;)

Picture coming in a little while.

well, hehe

I'm going to put it it what I had laying around.

a metal case thats the size of a small lunch box.

kinda ridiculous I know, but I can put a PC fan in it I guess so it would cool things off a bit more.

I have plently of room for a larger one if that would make it easier to put together.

3"x3" maximum would work just fine

just need one that will work for one of those 16x sony LDs

Maybe a smaller case would be nice. Lunchbox is overkill for something that can fit in a torch.
Although I can send you a finished one i think. Wait till weekend when I have some spare time to build my own; you might get someone else giving you a decent offer sooner. i'll see.

ok, thanks bluefusion.

well, at this point, I already have 2 fans in it connected to a 120volt rocker switch.  Since its a 120 volt ac switch, I can use it to switch on 2 circuits at once. One is a mini fan, but it has a heat sink on it. Not sure what to do with this fan. Is there any way I can use this one to cool off the laser more? Like, is there a proper way to use a fan with a square heat sink on it?

and I'll have a momentary switch for the laser circuit.

its the only case I could find and it will still work, but will just be a tad big.

the thing is 9"x5"x6"

I'm looking for the best setup for best diode life.

so a little extra fans can't hurt at all!

don't you kinda think 2 fans is a bit much? people can put these in torches without any additional heatsinking, so a lunchbox and 2 fans is way overkill

Well it would make it a portable labby in effect with no duty cycle.

And its a stealth laser..... there it is sitting innocently on your desk then kapow red beam of destruction fires out vapourising anything in its path........

Sorry we are talking about bond films on irc atm.........

yes yes, I know its a bit big and bulky, but it couldn't hurt having extra cooling.

and plus, its my first laser and I don't care how big it is, I just want to have good cooling so I don't have to worry about the laser getting hot or burning out.

I don't care about the size :)

ok then! i'm starting to think about turning gregs(senkat) GB diode into a labby? not sure yet, but i think it would be easier than sticking it in a torch?

ok - so -- here's the first part of my labby. TEC and all. The GB diode will give me 250 mW easy !!

nice mike! that's what i was thinking of doing, but with a slightly bigger heatsink for the diode, so then i don't really need a TEC, as fun as it may be, but hten you have to start worying about condensation!

Heatsink + Fan + TEC = PERFECT, and very little chance of condensation ;)
