( All iteme I needed have been solved and shipped my way. Thanks for looking! )
Hello! So I'm finishing up a fall semester and I'm taking an advanced machining class where I can build whatever the hell I want, really no instructor. I'm suppose to only use mill/lathe even though I have CNC + mastercam + cad experience, though I may request CNC use for some ideas in mind.
I want to make my own laser host regaurdless of how it looks. Just for the fun fact of "I made it myself". So after I made some heatsinks for some 600V 40A diodes: http://i.imgur.com/Dg3rRGN.jpg
I was like hey.. I should make a laser pointer.. Fairly easy to do. Got access to a billion tools and every sized drill bit / milling tool they have on the market. Why not? So my school lacked tools to cut threads on the inside diameter. So I tool tool-steel and made my own inside/outside thread cutting tool. Today I did a test on aluminum stock and successfully made 2 parts thread together. Very smooth, very solid threads, better than your typical hardware store nut/bolt slop connection.
SO. HERES WHAT I NEED FROM YOU GUYS
Its been ages so excuse me if I fluke up names.
* Axis module, requesting just the part that holds the laser ( not the tube body ) .. Will accept the lens too just for reference ( i know glass lens is better, I'm going for size not use ).
* A dead 445nm blue laser diode ( 2+ preferred but I can live on one .
Why a dead laser? I want to use it for reference and testing. I may do my own laser press-fit holder, and my own lens holder.
