While I do agree that it technically IS his property now, I also think it's very selfish to sell it!

Those lasers were given out to people to review and try out, not to make a profit from! Sure, if you have it in a few years, or even months, and need some money, fine, but within the first few weeks is pretty low. I have an Evo Pro and will soon have a spyder III. I _could_ go straight to ebay and easily make over $4000 profit from it, but the whole point of the free lasers was so that you could try them out, test their reliability with your everyday uses etc.

Yes, actually, I did. It doesn't matter if they decided to give it to you or not, they didn't give it to you to make a profit from.

A good quote from someone on laserchat: " it'd be like your grandma giving you the house because she knew it'd be special to you, then you just turn around and sell it to buy a boat"

Arenared is who Arenared is.

Unless there were restrictions imposed on him, the laser is his property to do with as he sees fit.

I am sure that giver is watching these threads and will use what he learns in any subsequent decisions.

Remember, you can only control one person . . .you

You can decide not to deal with Arenared and you can speak your mind. However, Arenared is free to do as he sees fit. His choices WILL affect how others decide to treat him, but he is free.

Peace,

I was only expressing my disgust for your immediate sale of a laser you did nothing to deserve except harrass everyone else and beg to steve. i didn't say pull it. I can't control that and ultimately that's your choice, however it's also your choice to change your behaviours that are negative. THAT is the only thing I'm trying to change. To show you the behaviour and hopefully with a desire to better yourself, you'll want to change. is kind of indicative of the general attitude of a good percentage of todays youth. (am not pointing fingers in any direction)

Humans want other humans to live like they do. It is part of the "in-group/out-group" judgments hardwired into our brains. I know that my worldview is correct only because I can see the problems associated with others' worldviews which are different from mine.

It works both ways. Others want you to act/think like they do and you want others to act/think like you do. If their way is "better" then you have to change. Change is hard and frightening so we continue to defend our own worldview.

Do not mistake my intentions. I totally disagree with your decision to sell the laser. I just do not believe I have the right to judge you on it.

Peace,
dave

@Kenom
well from what your saying , you are definitely misinformed
#1. I never begged for it i dont know where you got that indication.
#2. You dont know what i did to deserve it and just because you dont see any value, doesnt mean i dont deserve it.

I dont want to sound rude, seeing that all your trying to do is change my negative behaviors.

But assuming what your saying is true, its still none of your business what i do with my personal property. I cannot explain it any simpler and that is the fundamental rule here, it extends past this forum and the internet itself.

I pulled it because I didnt want you to continue the drama. The other part of the drama, is that other users see your freemouthing as a green light to join in on the fun, I.E.. Gata, prototype and potatorage.

Im trying not to backlash at the insipid remarks, but instead of you helping your making shit worst

I did not mistaken it for a second. I just thanked you for clearing up the obvious for others that cannot see it .

Where does your assumption of any promise between steve and I come from?

It sickens you that without deserving this i got one and now i want to sell it?

Come on guys he's already admitted that he didn't deserve the Laser
and that he wants to profit from it....

That's just who he is...

No-one will change that.... and yeah... that's his choice...

NO... my SPYDER I Pro will NEVER be sold... (it's a souvenir)..
I worked too hard putting together my 1st Review and I'm proud of it...

I feel like adding my USD .02
growing up I feel like I had to work for everything that I own. I was part of a relatively large family and there was very rarely money for wants once the needs were addressed. with that I have been instilled a strong sense of pride in everything that I own because it was work that got them for me.
when I was in college and friend of mine and myself were cruising around in his 88 Mustang GT while not the fastest car in the world it did all right the best part was that he paid for it all himself and did all the work himself (cam, intake, exhaust, clutch, suspension, you name the mod) a couple of younger kids pulled up next to us at the stoplight revving there engine. I just hung out my window and looked the little 16 17 y/o in the eyes and mildly exclamed "I wish mommy and daddy let me take out the Jag"

needless to say they weren't too happy.
quick disclaimer: this is not a personal attack on anyone of this forum.
I think that it is great that you got this laser to review I wish I could play with such a thing. what he does with it is his own. however WL may take these actions into consideration in the future. if that is the only review that he has done on that laser. if it was me I would feel like I owe WL more than that.
how would you feel if you gave something that you spent your time and money building asking for an unbiased review, and that is what you see in return.
I feel if you want to sell it, more power to ya. but try to give WL what they deserve for investing in you. they may think twice before doing such a thing in the future otherwise.

(meeting time rolls around at WL.
manager: so what is to become of those 5 lasers we gave out for reviews?
subordinate: well here are the reviews. *hands the reviews to his manager*
manager: so this is all we got for those five lasers.
subordinate: yes sir.
manager: well that was a waste.

and it reflects on everyone in this community.
