I dare you to find another pic with MY Maglite laser with the two LEDs.
Also, that pub across the road had a different sign a year ago.

Kind of weird how I like this build. Absolutely LOVE the features:drool: Didn't think I would like the maglite as a host but it's actually very stealthy because of that.
Would say that what's holding people back is the price unfortunately.
Understand that I'm not saying it's not worth the cost, it's just a big chunk of change. Hoping someone has some funds to purchase this and keep you going. Looking at your other post for the battery monitor led me to clicking on this build. Very nice and + Rep for you. Keep up the great work!

I'm not only selling through the forum and its going OK.
Maybe if I made a discount for LPF members like ARGlaser does for his LPMs.
Be sure to check this thread when I upload new pics in about a week of the Black maglite host with contrasting silver heatsink.
Also, I will make a pic-heavy thread of the entire build. I've been taking snapshots all along this build. Even hot some focus knobs from mrcrouse custom made so that the maglite can still stand on its crown.

So, i received my laser from nztdm today. Not the Maglite but his 2.7W C2 Host and it is fanfriggintastic!!! Was an absolute pleasure to deal with and was very helpful. I suggest you get one of these build's especially if your in Aus! under 3 day delivery! Crazy..

Do you sell your lasers as a kit without the diode? What I mean to say is would you be open to selling the host and the microcontroller switch only with no diode installed?

Yes. I would take off $160 US. So it would be $273. This still includes batteries and charger. I would recommend leaving the batteries with the kit as they are hard to find size 25500.
$250 for just the bateries and host all finished ready for a diode/driver. No charger and safety goggles as they are easy to get.
The microcontroller will switch on any two cell load up to 4 amps indefinitely.
This thing looks so awesome... I might be down to buy a kit from you but $250 is a but much for a host, even with a heatsink of that size and the different features.
EDIT: Would you be willing to sell just the circuit board thing?

Heatsink: $29

Microswitch: $2
Just happens to be $100 of parts. The rest is >4 hours of labor (I have to find time in between studies) and some profit.
I have made so many of these it has become tedious, especially drilling the LED holes by eye, that's the hardest part. I haven't figured out how to measure the same every time on the round Maglite.
I agree, I would not pay that much for a host.
I just can't make it cheaper without it being worthwhile. The main thing is, I see it as very unique on LPF and it is a real experience to use. Especially the feel of the microswitch under the original Maglite rubber button.
I will sell the circuit board alone for $40 plus $6 shipping. This includes the two LEDs (normal and bipolar) compatible with it, the temperature sensor, and the microswitch.
It will work in any host with a keyswitch and main switch. Of course you must have room for it. For comparison, you can fit three in a Maglite D.
