@ mfo, isn't that the purpose of goggles, to avoid eye contact from accidental reflections ? I think the ONLY glasses that will allow a direct hit would be opaque. Like you've said, use common sense, & you'll be OK !!!! PS, They told me an O.D. Rating of >3, IDK ? How long ago did YOU ask ? Maybe they've improved them ?!?!?!?........ROB BTW, THESE HAVE BEEN SOLD!!!!

OD2 will protect you from a hit up to 500mW as long as your blink reflex works in the right amount of time. A direct hit of 500mW through OD 2 goggles will mean 5mW into your eye.

I emailed them about two weeks ago I would say? I wonder why the inconsistency from wicked lasers...

In theory, yes you're 100% correct. However these goggles aren't certified so who's to say how accurate that number really is?

Yep they look just like those. Wish I'd saved that Email. Maybe whomever hit the wrong key, IDK. Evidently, O.D. 2 or 3 will do the job OK so long as you use your head!!! rob

Exactly. Even if I had OD 10 goggles, I'd still be super careful. You only get one pair of eyes.
