I do this for fun in my spare time and to support the laser community - and to raise a funds for other laser projects.  So if your wondering about the low prices, its about recovering the costs for the parts I need to buy.
Sorry, I'm not taking any requests at the moment.

Re: 300mW red burner copper sink $140 shipped...

Wow, what a deal.

I don't understand why some of you laser manufacturers don't make a bunch of certain well-made models and sell em cheap, set up a professional site, and run wickedlasers out of business...

Wicked Lasers has such a nice site, and it comes up so frequently on Google for "laser pointers", plus the reviews are all amazing (I'm assuming they're mainly fake), why would anyone new to the hobby suspect them of selling products of questionable quality?

Yeah, thats right ;) Buy my laser, comes with warranty! If the diode dies soon after purchase I'll replace it free and if its some months down the road I'll replace it with one for parts cost only! :'(

Well, I think new laserists will realise that WL isn't a very reputable company. For example, if you look at laser videos at youtube, there are lots of comments that WL shouldn't be trusted. Of course there are the opposing comments as well, but if you're in doubt, stay out! At least I would have thought like that. I wouldn't buy from a company that has several negative comments, but everyone may not have this opinion. Especially not new ppl who just want a laser.

But this place also shows up pretty frequently on google... ::)

Anyway, nice laser for great price! Unusual to see a copper heat sink, isn't copper pretty difficult to work with?

For many of us, it's a hobby, not a business.  For some that it is a business, it is simply a small "side business."

I'd rather build several different types of lasers and get them into the community at a good price than make a mass produced business out of it.  I enjoy designing and fabricating (and torturing) much more than producing.

Peace,

No need to be ashamed, Dave. We all know what you do to poor innocent diodes. :)

500mA - yes its x20 long die open can. :p Like Dave said, its a hobby, not a business. I have a nice day job but I love to design lasers at night ;)

Wow... great price on that super clean custom copper build!

The buyer can't go wrong with that price, even if you weren't offering to rebuild at no charge ...just parts and shipping.

I'll give you 5 bucks and a bag of doritos. Just give me your paypal and we have a deal. ::)

Like the other members said this laser is going for an already amazing price not even considering it is one of the if not the first to include a copper heatsink which requires a lot more patience to actually manufacture.
