I bought a new (to me) projector case so I have to move some "hobby" money around to pay for it.

This is a "new style Dilda" host.
It is powered by two CR2 batteries.
It has a Groove2 driver and AN AixiZ glass lens.
It is producing 450mW.
It is just $120 $105, shipped in the US.

These last two are star pointers.
They are both fixed-focus and have the AixiZ glass lens.
They are powered by two CR2 batteries.
They both have a Rkcstr driver in them.
The Ehgemus is putting out 300mW.
The Galileo is putting out 250mW.

These two fixed-focus, star-pointers are $100 $90 each, shipped in the US

As usual, the earlier PM gets the laser.

Peace,
dave

I reduced most of the prices.

It appears that people are more interested in getting a laser that looks like everyone else's for now (or most people think that 1W is magic) ;)

No biggie. I've temporarily retired my soldering iron before.

Of course you reduce prices after I buy mine, lol. 1W is magical, i cant wait to see the beam this thing produces.

I should be getting it later today so I'll report back later!

You will notice I did not reduce the price of the Ehgemus like yours ;)

Through the year, as members loose interest in the hobby or sometimes just need some cash, I pick up assorted hosts such as these. I do that:

First, because it is my hobby
Second, because it helps the members getting rid of stuff
Third, I can generally sell new lasers to members at a reduced cost

Every once in a while, I run one of these "sale" threads to move the hosts back out into the community. I build "working" lasers. I intend for them to work for a long time. I only use quality, proven components and then back the lasers with a lifetime workmanship/labor warranty.

Usually, these sales go rather quickly. I guess the market has changed. No real worries. These will sell on eBay or in the Astronomy community with no problems. I just love this community and try to give the members here the best possible prices

Re: -- the magical 1W -- For the VAST majority of users, 1W is absolutely wasted.
First off the human eye cannot "see" the difference between 800mW and 1.2W (especially when only one laser is being shined).
Secondly, I can light fireworks fuses from 8 feet away with 500mW of 445nm light.

Why stress a diode and driver and/or suffer from short battery charge times when I can do anything a 1W can do with only 1/2 the power?

Do I have a 2W built in a super-sweet, custom Ehgemus host? Absolutely. I must show that I can build them.
Do I "use" it? No. It sits in the safe almost all the time
The 445nm I use the most is only ~300mW. It shows one heluva beam and the batteries last a LOOOOOONNNNNG time ;)

@ Glenn -- I'll set the brass one aside. As you know, this is the first week of class for the Fall semester. We can get together anytime after this week. Maybe we can work out at least a partial trade for an S06J sled
I'm not sure if I'm going to have my grandson this weekend or not. My son's plans changed last night

I just picked up a very few Krytons again. I have to decide what to build in them yet

Peace,
dave

Thank you Dave! and you are quite right about the burning power... I sure love to carry a pocket size burner, and the violet 650mW I have will out distance burn about all the units I have tried, and I have a Ehgemus sandblasted beauty in 445nm that is >2W. Still sure love 405nm & the violet beam is a thing of beauty I never tire of. But I like those 445's as well... ;) -Glenn

Dave, I have what looks like 3 matching Ehgemus hosts for that first one posted.

They are a LOC, GGW, and an O-Like '200mW' 532nm.

I think I need to complete the collection and make it 4.

Please Count me in for that first one. I'll be sending a PM with in the next day!

(Jacob grumbles at himself for spending more money...)
(but he is happy to obtain the final puzzle piece :))

Sweet! I LOVE matched sets. Back when all we had were red and violet, I used to build matched sets for sale all the time.
My personal lasers are matched Krytons ;) (LCC, 12X, 445, & 180mW greenie) I just picked up a red fade Kryton to build my 635nm into :)

I'll mark it reserved for you and send you a PM with my info.

Peace,
dave
