MY 473 FOR SALE!

That's right guys, I am going to sell this badass laser. Probably the best laser I have ever owned, but the joy for me lies in creating and viewing for a bit, and then selling and creating new stuff. So without further ado, for sale is my very own DIY 473.

This laser uses a Lasever module that outputs 90-130mW of brilliant 473. This really is one of the most attractive blue colors you can own and I am having second thoughts even as I type this up. It likes to stay in TEM00 and TEM01 just like most all DPSS units. The host was made by Ehgemus and then built into by me. The host takes a single 18650 lithium ion battery. The knurling on the battery tub makes this host look stunning even before you turn it on.

Pictures: Because yall don't want to actually READ 1000 words, do you?

PRICE: The price for this fantastic laser is 700650 Shipped. That includes signature confirmation and paypal fees and some extra little goodies. I am willing to take offers so feel free to PM me, although I may wait a bit before I act on offers.

Thanks for looking!
-Isaac

EDIT: more details as requested below.

This module was tested by Jayrob to do 125mW, thus the 125 sticker on the module. The module is from lasever and has a great IR filter on it. Brightness I would compare it to a 638nm laser, but you have to keep in mind that this is one of, if not THE prettiest dot available in handhelds. Barring the thousand dollar specialty diodes that can hit 488 or something of course. The beam is somewhat visible in moderately lit rooms, and I often turn it on and stare down the length to enjoy the beam in my lit room. In darkness the beam is very nice indeed. The build required giving dimensions to ehgemus for a custom host that I had invisioned and then modifying what he sent me. I got a local machinist to remove some more metal from the inside of the module barrel as the module would not fit originally. Just too tight. Really cool guy though, so I was glad. I also had to use my dremel to modify the custom lens holder he sent.

Speaking of which, if you unscrew the front you can adjust the lens to your liking. So the divergence, while very tight right now, is in your hands. You can make it as tight or as spread as you want.

Lastly, your wife will love the color. :) It is such a beautiful, vibrant ice blue that just shines like a pale sapphire in the morning light. Compared to 445 this is brighter and more pure. Purity is really the essence of this wavelength to me. 445 seems dirty when compared to this crystalline beam.

445 vs 473: This was taken with my smartphone, and I don't have a 445 right now or I would do a new comparison using my DSLR but this pic does a good job.

:o You're selling it. Your baby.
That's a nice laser tho. Really nice. Good luck, and congrats whoever gets it.

Feelz

I care more about building lasers than keeping them :)

That is where most of the fun lies in my opinion...

WBS, I hate you! Why must you sell this beauty when I am flat broke!?!?!?!? Such a tease man, dang!

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

That really is a beauty.
I'm into figuring out ways to build on my own but then put them in cases afterwards. Share the builds and give away pieces/parts but not too many complete units as I get edgy about misuse. Really have to feel I can trust someone to not be careless.

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

Awesome deal!

Wait, you want that monstrous +1W 520nm laser, right?

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

I'd buy it, as I need a good laser of this color, but I have no money. I'd have to trade :(

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

I might could take a trade. Shoot me a PM with your offer.

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

Well, the thing is that only thing I've got in that price range is my Hercules. So that's about all I can offer. Unless there's something you want in particular.

And a lab quality dpss 473 from cni is only 550, 450 at bulk. These.diodes are nasty expensive :p

Man what a sweet laser!!! She is a beauty.
Well, you know $700 is almost the price of that NDG7475 1W 520nm Green Laser Diode.
Just a thought. :>} Good luck on your sale.

Personally I would prefer the 473nm wavelength and beam characteristics over the 1W 520nm Multimode diode. But that's just me :tinfoil:

Nice laser you offer here Isaac. Reminds me of my former RPL-473nm

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

The apparent brightness of the green 520nm diode is really something. The human eye
is most sensitive to green wavelengths, it would make quite the pointer. ;>}

Re: FS: 100mW 473nm in Ehgemus Host

Consider a trade on an AR15 custom rifle? I am tempted but I would have to sell one of my gun collection to justify this. Very nice indeed, you've got me trying to figure out how to own this and stay married, $700 on a "fancy flashlight" as my wife would see it would be quite unacceptable. Do you have any pictures of the 473 module before it was incorporated in to the host? How would 100mw of 473 compare in mw to a 445 in terms of brightness? Two, three times as bright per mw? I don't recall how quickly the brightness scale rises in this range of wavelength.
