Hi,

Superb job! Great to see another vintage builder out there. (Nice polishing job, too.)

A couple of questions:

- Is that a brass screw on the switch? (Did you drill out the rivet that was originally there to remove and clean the switch during the restoration?) I've had this come up before with these hosts (i.e., wanting to remove the switch to clean in and around it), but haven't wanted to drill the rivet out, for fear of not having anything to replace it with, which wouldn't interfere with the battery on the inside of the host.

- How does this host work, electrically speaking? Having worked with a few of these vintage hosts, I've seen that there are basically a couple of types, and this type typically has the flashlight circuit and reflector dish isolated from the host body (usually using some sort of insulating ring around the ridge of the reflector). Thus when you turn the switch on, a tab normally slides forward, contacting the reflector (and connecting it to the case, which is negative), which completes the negative leg of the circuit. How did you make the switch work in this case, without having to electrically isolate the heatsink from the rest of the host?

That is a brass screw. We did remove the original rivet, and replace it with a screw in order to clean the switch.

I believe this switch actually does what a switch is supposed to do, in that the switching is inside the switch, and not caused by the metal piece creating contact. Therefore, we have a lead soldered to that contact instead. (The black lead you see in the pictures)

Also. Best boost driver for now is the super X boost from lazeerer. It can be set up to 3A and is pretty damn stable! (If you want 445nm that is ) you can pretty much put anything you like in it as long as it is capable with a boost driver.

You should decide what you would like into it and the we can order internals for it! :beer:

Also @ mrcrouse wait with shipping to me untill sm decides because the sxb driver is very big and we might want to make the "flat" spot somewhat bigger.
