Was able to set electrical tape on fire I think it was pretty successful. Thanks man.

Why would you want 3 x 700mA = 2100 mA?

What would you be running at that power today?

Were at 1.8W ish today no? So I can see it change a bit in the next few years... Thanks for the reminder Moh!

I duno why everything is so small anyway's who wants to put a 445 in an auraura!!! and since we have to heat sink the drivers cuz they run hot over 1W-ish we goto larger hosts.. it's our hosts that are failing us.

So with the Mit. 635nm diode I could run this driver no problems cause it is case isolated from the top of my head... so with that said if I was to isolate a red 660nm from a host body I'm good just like hooking a red to a microboost?

What power source would you need to BOOST to the Vf of a red diode from?

I'm not sure if that will work.

Specifically, I don't know if the IC can function on such a low supply. If Moh doesn't have a chance to test that, I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Frankly, I would just use a 14500 and go linear. That's what I do for 635s.

I was hoping that the li-ion primary would work they have a higher yeild than the standard primary... not a deal breaker just trying to get aquanted with this driver I have three hopefully waiting for me when I get home and will start fiddling with them then, excited actually. Thank you in advanced for your work on these.

There are lipo primaries?

I'm only familiar with the lipo packs that are rechargeable.

Just a heads up with the Mitsu 635's and a linear driver. I have been building a few of them lately with Moh's linear driver set to 750mA they need more voltage than a single Li-Ion can provide to stay in regulation. I will have to get the exact voltage they start to drop when I get home. I would suggest a buck driver for it.

I did a run on one at 1A for 10 seconds or less it ran up to 3.4v so yea a buck for sure... or was it 4.3v cant remember now. I will have to buy another one just to find out....muhaaaa.

Ahhhh, gotcha.

Those aren't LiPo cells, they're LiFe cells.

This is true. Moh's linear won't do it (no DDL-style regulator setup will). I pretty exclusively use the IRON 4D in all of my builds now:

never heard them referd to as LiFe I was under the impression LiPo was lithium "primary" so thank you for that... so should I shoot a PM in regards to trying out a couple IRON-4Ds do for one what you would do for others:san:

I think they're actually something funky like "LiFeS2"

I'm not really selling those IRON 4D drivers right now - but I may at some point in the future if there's some demand and someone wants to stock a whole bunch. I'll let you know if that happens.

More to the point though - I was basically just suggesting that you need a really low dropout linear (not a DDL style) to run a RED from a single lithium ion.
