EDIT: This post is no longer valid. As often happens, as a noob I expect one thing and when it isn't exactly what I thought, I look for something else.

I have since come to really like my SL 445 and am not looking to get rid of it at all. Thanks for looking.

Old post below.....

Let me explain, I just got this and it is evil. I have a laser bee A and it metered at 1.238 W. You almost expect to hear a lightsaber sound when it lights up, or hear the air sizzling or crackling when it is on. 445 is an intense beam at this power. And I am thrilled with the quality and workmanship.

So why would I trade it?

I love that it burns, that is fun - but I really like shooting distant objects. This laser can do that well, but as anyone knowledgeable here will tell you, this type of laser has a thicker beam with some divergence.

I am in search of TIGHT, crisp beams with low divergence and super small round dots.

I am willing to give up some power to do this. 200-300 mW is pretty intense in a good laser and 500 mW is awesome in any color I've seen so far!

So I would be interested in a laser with decent power and incredible beam specs if anyone would like to horse trade.

I'm relatively new here, but several members can already vouch for me...

RHD is practically my dealer right now. I've purchased three from him up in the great white north.

I have ordered a couple of products from Clif at Cajun lasers (including my favorite so far, a simple 60mW green pen with a nice beam!)

I've ordered from Swimnsurfer and Jerry with Laser Bee.

DJNY, JayRob, and others.

Plus I have a very public profile. Almost anything you see with "tsteele93" is me.

My Facebook is /tsteele93

I have tsteele93.com

Etc...

I'm trustworthy and reliable and you have nothing to fear in a trade. I would also be willing to use a middle man if necessary.

Anyway, I'm getting the cart ahead of the horse. First let's see if there is anything worth trading away a fun, well-built burner (blew my family away when they saw it!) to get or not.

You should fill-up your signature line with the wavelengths/powers that you have now, and it will make it easy for members here to make some suggestions for filling out your collection :)

Finding new wavelengths is a fun process! One of the most exciting things is knowing that a new wavelength is en route :)

I keep meaning to do that, I have to figure out how to put the clever color coded list in my signature.

I was playing outside tonight and the Survival Lasers blue is awesome in the night sky. It is seriously a "tear through the night sky" beam and looks awesome except when I hit a roof and it is just fatter than I like. But tonight made me think that I may just hang on to it.

It is really well made, and awesome in the night sky. I just wish I could focus it tighter.

We will see.

On a side note, your 635 lipstick laser is pretty amazing at night too. It isn't often you see a red beam that is very visible in the night sky on a clear night, but that laser does it! I only got high 400's out of it on my laser bee A today, but I'm going to test again and see. I think I got 485... I will check again this weekend and see.

Whatever it is putting out, it is a nice beam in the sky. Of course the 635 has an oddball dot, but I'm learning to appreciate the different aspects of each of these laser designs.

I'm clearly addicted right now.

Click on user CP, then click Edit signature. The color code list is in the font selection above. Click on the "A" and you will see a color palet.

A pic of your laser may help :D

That's weird, it actually should. It always does for signature changes.

I'm betting that there's a signature "state", like "on" or "off". When new users arrive, the signature is probably "off" until they use it for the first time. I'm betting that posts made when the signature was "off" will never get it added. But any post made after your first usage of the signature, will be kept in sync when you make revisions. That's my guess.

So... you know what your next wavelength needs to be, right?

Yeah, yellow is far more appealing to me than 473. I've got your 450 single mode and your 635, but I've got nothing like yellow! Sure wish they would come down a bit. It would be nice to get ~150mW at a decent price.

I don't know about "decent price", but I bet you could get fairly close to 100mW for $1k in a portable.

I consider your builds to be decently priced. :yh: $250 is starting to get expensive for a single laser to me. I'll go a little higher for quality, but exotic wavelengths are tough for me because I feel like they will come down in time.
