Solarforce 2.1W 451nm Build w/ "Magic" Polarity-Free Buck Driver

attachment.php

Okay, so here's another neat one that I'm going to pass along to someone else at a fairly reasonable asking price. This is a "gun metal" silver/gray Solarforce host, with an awesome 3-diameter modular heatsink (props to Eud for that), custom focus knob, 451nm H-Series diode, and a 405 G-1 lens. The build runs off of 2x 16340 (CR123) or 2x 18350.

But the coolest part of this build, is it's driver. It uses a high efficiency buck driver with my "magic" polarity-free technology integrated on PCB. With the "magic" polarity-free tech, there's no right or wrong direction to insert the cells, you never have to worry about it. As long as both cells point in the same direction, the build will work.

In fact, the buck driver used in this build is so efficient, that if instead of using two cells, you just use one single 3.7V 18650, you'll still get an output of over 350mW. That can also be a neat way to get lower power out of the build if you're ever in a situation where you don't want the full 2.1W. There's a lot of power being packed into a relativity moderate sized host here, so I would suggest a duty cycle of 1 minute on to 1 minute off when using the build at it's full 2.1W output.

You MUST own laser protection goggles appropriate for this wavelength, and
You MUST be over 20 years of age, and
You MUST be familiar and experienced with the appropriate safety precautions to take with lasers of this power.
You MUST NOT be a resident of Canada

This is not a laser pointing device. At all times, protective laser safety glasses appropriate for this wavelength must be worn by the operator. This laser should not be used around 3rd parties (non-operators) pets, or for any recreational purpose.

Sweet build. I like the idea of being able to run it off a single 18650 to get a lower power .
And it not mattering witch way the batteries go in,very cool indeed!
I have never heard of another laser with that feature.
I'm sure it will sell fast.

Thanks!

The polarity agnosticism is unique to my builds. Though I'm hoping to get the tech out there for everyone to use soon.
