"Lipstick Laser" 150mW High-Wavelength 453nm Single Mode Build (Incredibly Stable)
Alright, I think this is the last laser of my BST forum FS-thread posting spree. Fall cleanout is nearing an end, and this is one of the gems that I've held on to for a while. Most people are in love with single-mode builds for their amazing beam quality. The great divergence specs, coupled with a nice thin beam and tight round dot make single-mode builds a welcomed departure from the typical "rectangular" multi-mode 445s. The 453nm wavelength of this build provides a gorgeous shade of blue that lacks (to my eye) any perceivable violet hue. But there's something particularly special about this build:
This genuinely takes the prize for "most stable build I've ever built".
It held within 1% plus/minus of its peak power for the full 5 minute LPM test. It LPM'd at a peak of 153mW, and then fluctuated by no more than 1mW, for the full run of the LPMing. That's a feat I've never paralleled with any other build to date.
Not only is it wonderfully stable, but it's a sexy laser to boot. The "Lipstick Laser" host is one of my favorite 14500 based builds, and the wider focus knob really adds to the visual appeal. It uses a glass 3-element 445 coated lens, and will work great with any decent 14500 lithium ion rechargeable cell. The diode itself bins fairly high on the wavelength scale, hitting 453nm on the spectrometer 2 minutes into a run test.
I only ship via fully tracked and insured methods. Please PM me for a shipping quote.
You MUST own laser protection goggles appropriate for this wavelength, and
You MUST be over 20 years of age, and
You MUST be familiar and experienced with the appropriate safety precautions to take with lasers of this power.
You MUST NOT be a resident of Canada
This is not a laser pointing device. At all times, protective laser safety glasses appropriate for this wavelength must be worn by the operator. This laser should not be used around 3rd parties (non-operators) pets, or for any recreational purpose.
