Was thinking about Jayrobs comment about a sleeve for the inside of his barrel.
I work in the Thermoplastic injection molding business. No, I dont have my own business. I make money for the millionaire. I've seen some parts that could not be molded made from stock that is machined to spec. You can buy every type of plastic on earth in round, square or flat stock. You can then machine it with steel end mills and drills at about 800 rpm I think(it melts). There are many plastics that can be bonded with organic solvents like MEK or DCM. Brass inserts with machine threads can be heat staked with a soldering iron into a hole. Again many types of brass inserts with threads for caps. Lightweight and a variety of colors.

Re: FS: 90mW Blu-Ray! - Kryton Barrel/FlexDrive/80

I got the blue-ray laser a few days ago, and I've been playing with it in the dark ever since (well, sometimes it gets light). It's quite visible/bright even when there's a reasonable amount of ambient light (e.g. right now, sitting in a hotel room at the beginning of sunset, with a couple of room lights on).

I do find it very interesting how the color seems to vary, between blue and violet; I'm not sure what the difference depends on yet.

Yes!...the fluorescence is awesome in the dark! Reflecting and 'glowing' off certain surfaces...

Well, just one of these awesome 1st run Kryton barrels left for sale! Some have been setting the current much higher for the 803T blu-ray diodes. I can set the current higher if you want.

By the way, I can build this last barrel into either a blu-ray, or an open can red burner. Just let me know. The price would be the same...

Yakov, your awesome Kryton blu-ray will be in Monday's mail at the latest. (I may be able to make it to the Post Office Saturday)

Turned out very nice! 90mA's - 94.3mW's...

This is my best guess for the power using my LPM-1 meter. I have a Coherent PowerMax 5200 digital read meter on it's way to me! It has the Coherent PM3 thermal sensor.

I will have both of my meters 'dialed in' soon enough... There is an excellent meter calibration experiment in progress:

P.S. I may still have one more of these first run Kryton barrels... I will probably let my personal one go, because the Kryton Groove barrels will soon be here! :D

ya know with all the kryton smooths' (v1) out there. Ya don't see many action shots of them except for you jay. Well, that and lava and me. You'll wanna keep your hands on at least one of those though since they were a smaller run and won't be repeated. The grooves probably will.

Yeah... I do have one red and one blu-ray. I'll probably keep them both.

Hey, does anybody know where I can get sleeve material that can go over 2 X 3.0 volt lithium batteries... I want to use 2 X 3.0 volt batteries in the Kryton Groove barrels, instead of a single 18650...

Re: FS: 90mW Blu-Ray! - Kryton Barrel/FlexDrive/80

I'm workin on finding some plastic tubing you can slip in and out of the tubes to take up the extra space. As it sits I've got 3mm black foam sheets 8x11 that I can ship with yours jay to take up the extra space so they don't rattle.

Kenom, thanks for the good customer service! Yes, please include some of that foam in case we don't find tubing!
