Oh man, I would definitely buy this if I weren't saving up for a ~$1300 589nm... Won't stray from it this time rhd ;)
Oh... and I'm 16 so that doesn't help :na:

Oh I'm really excited to hear what you're buying!

That's more than I spent on my 589, by a fair margin in fact. I hope it's something amazing!

Speak of the devil, it looks like DTR has these diode in stock! Couldn't find them on his diode page, but they popped up in my eBay saved search:
http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170805351051&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:CA:1123

125$ with driver and G2 lens seriously? Thats is a steal :pop:

EDIT: Why would he put that up on ebay?

I recon this sells within the day on the forum..

EDIT: nevermind i think this is the 300mW model pushed to 500mW.. Not the 500mW rated 635nM mann got crazy for a sec :p

Where did you get the info that this is the ML520G73?

Should be just the ML520G71, outputting 500mW as far as I interpret DTR´s listing.

Did you get the time to do the comparison shot yet? I´m interested in the brightness different and the color shift next to a G71 driven at 400-500mA.

Thanks

Aye, I've managed to get $600 now... selling another $200 of stuff by the end of the week hopefully... It sucks that CNI won't ship to the US now. Though, they mentioned they'll ship to other countries and have that contact import them to the US from there... maybe I still can get it for less

Sorry guys, you're right, that's a normal 300mW. My bad.

I was going to say! Wow! That bundle would have been cheaper than the diode on its own.

With the double post and the rare error, I thought you had been hacked for sure!

DJNY: I completely forgot about that. I'll tackle that task tomorrow.

DJNY:

They're absolutely indistinguishable in terms of wavelength. To the degree that when I add/subtract either diode from the graph, there is absolutely nothing noticeable. The reading just gets more intense, and the graph scales a bit automatically. But there's no X-axis skew. Neither wavelenght appears to have any +/- in terms of wavelenght over the other.

Comparison was between:
- Mitsubishi 500mW diode @ 1,000mW of output
- Mitsubishi 300mW diode @ 450mW of output

^ Thanks! That are GOOD news!! Was afraid that this tiny build shift in wavelength to the lower visible end! Either it is very well heatsinked or did this really produce much less heat than the 445nm´s for example.

Anyway, bump & +1

Re: FS: 638nm 1000mW (1W) + Build, Stainless Steel

A couple people have asked about the G lens, and whether I would sell this with a regular 3-element lens instead. The G-lens is from Jayrob, and it's the RED (650) G lens that he sells.

If interested, I'm fine with selling this without the G lens if that makes it more affordable and someone wants to add the lens later. That would reduce the price by $50.

I'm also going to lower the asking price for this laser to $499 (with G lens). If anyone wants it then without the G lens, that could lower the price to $449. Power reduction without the G lens should be roughly 30% below the G-lens metered powered.
