sweet dude. I'd rather give my money to someone who actually can use it and does proper support for his products, then well ,laser stuff not from this forum.

what payment options do you take?

pics will have to wait until morning unfortunately. My flatmate went to sleep and the pics are still in his camera, and me thinks he is "sleeping" with his girlfriend so i dare not disturb :D

All in all Jayrob has been the best online tradingpartner i've had in my life and the service far excelled any proper corporation that i can think of. 5/5 stars on all accounts.

I'll do a proper review of the tuned version i bought when i have goggles. Some pictures will be posted shortly :)

Thanks Jay it has been a pleasure doing business and i'll recommend your skills & service to anyone. Aparently Americans are still good at customer service as long as it isn't outsourced to china & india....

Great to know that it got there! Thank you for those fine words of yours. You are smart to wait for the goggles. That's a serious burner you got there. Stonetek is the place to buy from too. Looking forward to your further review!
Jay

P.S. For others to know, I have this build ready to ship!

I have parts now too! So, if you want different options, such as an AixiZ acrylic lens ($160), just let me know!

Built with the Sony Optiarc open can diode:
lam3.jpg

The driver is putting out 423mA's
The peak measurement that I got is very consistent with these builds - 243mW's using a Meredith acrylic lens.
$195 plus shipping.

Re: FS: *300mW MXDL Open Can Lasers With Heatsink*

finally the laser reached my doorstep today :p

after removing it from the package, i can see the built is really really good, better than what i expected. seriously.

i have not gotten any batteries for it yet, still waiting for the batteries to arrive at my door step but meanwhile i'll most probably be heading out to the shops to get normal 3v batteries to test it out first :)

I have received mine, and am currently working on the review, and pics...I will post a link to the review thread as soon as I get it posted - this is a sweet laser - that is all I am giving away thus far :)

Good to know that it got there! (this one went to Australia, that's why we agreed to send it without the batteries! - discounted)
The 3 volt batteries will light it up, but you will not get the power that I have labeled. You need 3.6 volt batteries at that current. I have seen some china batteries labeled as 3.7 volt instead of 3.6, these will be fine.

P.S. I am looking for testimonials. :) I have a link to some testimonials at the top of this thread, and sure would like to add yours!

Looking forward to your review Greg! (Senkat already gave me a really great testimonial which I have listed at the top of my testimonial page) http://www.sonic.net/~jayrob/MXDL/testimonials/
But we know that his REVIEW will probably be very thorough and detailed. (makes me kind of nervous) Not about the build quality. But, it's just that I sent him one with a 2.7 ohm resistor, running at 468mA's. That LD better hold up!

Senkat - whats your estimate on delivering your review? Your expertise should provide some of us newbs with answers before we ask the questions.

Thanks,

i'm doing one too with pics and vids. Jay aparently shipped senkat an identical one to mine :) let's see if we have different things to say about the laser, but somehow i doubt that.

The two should be very close in comparison.

Greg's is using the Sony Optiarc open can with an AixiZ acrylic lens @ 468mA's. I measured it at 258.3mW's. :)

Yours is using the Sony Optiarc open can with a Meredith acrylic lens @ 470mA's. I measured yours at 264.7mW's. :eek: (with a Meredith glass lens, yours would be around 315mW's!)

The biggest difference between the two builds, is the cost. My price for Greg's build, is $160. Yours, $195. ($35 more for the Meredith module)

Both drivers are using a 2.7 ohm 1 watt resistor, but I got a couple of more mA's reading from yours. Each diode will differ just a little as well.

There may be a slight difference in power between the Meredith acrylic vs the AixiZ acrylic as well. But, I have never really tested this using the same driver and diode.

There is only about 6mW's difference between the two! Those are some very HOT lasers at that power! :)

Great job on the review! Thanks for taking the time to do that. :)

Hey jay, sent you a PM. :)

PM replied...
I have one build ready to ship:
grabs2.jpg

* Sony Optiarc open can
* AixiZ acrylic lens
* 424mA - 247.3mW's
$160 plus shipping.

grabs1.jpg

* Sony Optiarc open can
* Meredith acrylic lens
* 423mA - 243mW's
$195 plus shipping. - SOLD

I do have parts. All except for the Meredith glass module. (which would take about 3 days to get) So, I can build one any way you would like it!

Re: FS: *300mW MXDL Open Can Lasers With Heatsink*

Murudai, you asked for it, you got it! ;)

Murudai wanted to make sure he got over 300mW's. So I used the Pioneer 112D and a Meredith glass lens.
I built the driver using a 2.7 ohm resistor just to make sure.
Murudai.jpg

He wanted to be able to switch lenses as well. I will include a hard copy of these instructions with the laser. (along with the extra lens)
The laser will have the Meredith glass lens installed. It is also labeled for the glass lens readings.

* Pioneer 112D
* 465mA's
* 319.1mW's - Meredith glass
* 260mW's - Meredith acrylic

Be careful with that thing! :D
Jay

P.S. I kind of doubt he will change his mind, but if he does, this monster will be up for grabs.
