Got your PM...PM returned.

No info whatsoever on my specific questions, not in the first post or the linked thread. There are no relevant pictures (of the lasers lighting or burning) and the movie is also relatively useless (noone thinks a 300 mW won't light matches). If this is how you reply to a potential customer, why would I want to do business with you ? LOL

Ok...I guess I did ignore your first question. Sorry. I don't know of anybody who can build a green laser. I can recommend a very reputable company for purchasing one though. I have bought from Optotronics. I have also bought from Nova. Everyone on the forum will tell you that these are very good companies with good customer service as well.

As far as my builds. I feel that the information that I have provided is very informative. I think that the video is very good as well. That's not just lighting matches. Those matches are igniting INSTANTANEOUSLY at 4'. It will light a black tipped match at 20' in less than 3 seconds. I am not a laser company. I'm just a member of the forum, who is offering some open can builds, with custom heatsinks.

Or, if you buy your own parts, I would be happy to give advice on the build...

I am offering these open can builds, with your choice of which module you would like best. Check the first post in this thread for details and pricing scenarios...

You really should post some good quality photos of these lighting, both indoor and outside at night. Are they visible in the night sky or on a dark background ? Can they burn plastic and paper ?
I'm more interested in a green portable but a better presentation will probably increase others interest.

Here's the latest build. At the request of BoostCrzy, the Sony Optiarc open can diode is fit with a Meredith acrylic lens. The driver is running at 422mA's. This diode is putting out 245.9mW's. I will give BoostCrzy a couple of days to respond to my PM. If he has changed his mind, this build will be up for grabs. The cost is $195 plus shipping. Or, add $10 dollars for a Meredith glass lens.

I measured the output with a Meredith glass lens as well...281.2mW's

I think the members here all know what 300mW are capable of doing and there really is no need for him to post pics or vids of the laser doing what it's supposed to do.

Thanks chido.

BoostCrzy, your laser will be in the mail tomorrow! Please let me know how you like it...
Jay

P.S. I re-tested the power after I put your brand new, fresh charged batteries in there...248.6mW's. So I will re-lable your laser.

Re: F.S. * 300mW MXDL Open Can Laser With Heatsink

Here's my latest build. Fresh off the assembly line. It's another Sony Optiarc diode, fit with a Meredith acrylic module.
This is my favorite combination if you haven't noticed.
I like the thick brass focussing knob of the Meredith. The AR coated lens as well.
I have been getting very consistent power readings from the open can builds. I have yet to find an unusually HOT diode out of at least 10 builds so far.

The driver is putting out 422mA's. Running the open can diode at 248.4mW's with the Meredith acrylic lens. This laser is 'up for grabs'
$195 plus shipping.

Quote from my PM/e-mail:
(Today at 3:21pm) Svelt has sent you the following Personal Message:

"Hey again,

Just wanted to say that I've ran the 247mw mxdl at a max of 30 seconds (I'm a believer of remaining on the side of caution / longevity  ;D  )
I'm still very impressed and satisfied with this purchase. It is /beyond/ what my expectations were for power and build quality, very professional.
I may look at a future purchase or 2 in the future from you, so I hope you will continue to make the occasional upon request (even if it takes a while)!!

Thank you so much for this unit. It is simply amazing.

Thanks again,

Svelt"

That's what I like to hear!

Re: F.S. * 300mW MXDL Open Can Laser With Heatsink

klost, your two are ready. I will drop them off tomorrow and then PM you. One of yours is built with the Sony Optiarc diode, and the other is build with the Pioneer 112D. - Both Meredith acrylic modules. (see how I have them labeled)

I have noticed that there are slight differences in the driver output even though I build them with the same resistors. We also know that there are slight differences in each diode.

P.S. This is the first one that I have gotten over 250mW's using an acrylic lens and a 3 ohm resistor!
