Pierce, I got your build done and it will be in today's mail! (Monday)

I put a small dot of white paint to mark the 5' focal point.

Nice diode... putting out 255mW's through the AixiZ acrylic lens with the DDL driver set at 422mA's. :)

Looks pretty good with the version 2 heatsink!

Let me know when you get it...
Jay

Jay,

Thanks for getting it built and shipped so fast.  It didn't make it before I left town for the holidays, but the package is being held at my office. :(  I can't WAIT to get home on Friday and start playing (safely of course).  I'll post back and let you know once it get it going.

Happy Holidays and thanks again!

Looking forward to your happy response Pierce! :)

The batteries are installed, so be careful! Don't forget to remove the dust cap too...

Jay,

I just got back into town today and my package was waiting for me! I have been playing with it on and off for the past few hours... awesome! Very nice host, and I can say from my lathe experience that your heatsink has some darn nice surface finish (on the part I can see at least).

I know there have been tons of positive reviews, but I figured I'd add mine to the list:
The laser was well wrapped and packaged and arrived in perfect condition. The USPS roughed up the box a good bit, but the contents were perfect. Workmanship looks amazing. I have absolutely no complaints. I'll try to post some pictures in a few, but for now I'm still playing!

Thanks Jay,
-Pierce

p.s. - this sucker is bright... glad I bought goggles beforehand! :)

Aaron, your really going to like this sweet blu-ray build!

Using the Meredith glass lens and a nice 803T diode, your getting 125mW's at a setting of 125mA's. :)

Remember that these 4171/FlexDrive builds have a silicon diode installed in the 'pill' of the host before the Flexdrive to drop voltage to 5.5 volts. You must only use 2 X 3.0 volt batteries. (included) Do not use 3.6 volt batteries.

It will be in Monday's mail. Please let me know when you get it...

I doubt that Dave has ever got a negative rep, but even if he got 50, his reputation could not be ruined!

Your a good man Dave! :)
