Hey, i would like to buy a premade laser with all of the best parts i can get for 150 bucks. The 4171 host uses a massive heatsink! (as does the 3405)
New batteries, dust cap, and a free Uranium crackle glass marble are included in your package.
Remember that with these FlexDrive builds, use only the 3.0 volt lithium primaries. Not the 3.6 rechargeable batteries.

How bright is this laser compared to others at the same power? I haven't seen any night shots ,everyone is too buisy burning stuff ;D

Welcome to LPF!
Honestly, nothing compares to 532nm visually, because we see the green color much better. 405nm (blu-ray) is near ultra violet and people even see it differently.
Most can see the beam reaching out into the night sky at 100mW's or even less. When I built my first (higher power) blu-ray at 65mW's, I could see the beam in the night sky.
But even a 30mW green will be way brighter.
That said, the blu-ray seems to be the most intriguing of all! The way it fluoresces many things. Like those uranium marbles. They seem dim in daylight, but in the dark, they are awesome! And many people will say that they are their favorite color. I have some glow in the dark paper and a tile too. I can shine any of my other lasers at it with no glow. (650nm, 532nm, 473nm) It's only with the 405nm blu-ray that it glows! (or a white flashlight) Check out the glow tile video linked in this page:

A couple of reminders:
* At this power, a conservative duty cycle is recommended for better longevity. (1 min. on / 30 sec. off)
* For this FlexDrive build, use only 3.0 volt Lithium primaries (included), do not use 3.6 volt rechargeable batteries.
* Please use proper eye protection. Very hazardous if not careful.
* There is a small dot of white paint to mark the 5' focal point.
* If you don't have a blu-ray laser, save that marble for when you get one. It will glow with a blu-ray!
Please let me know when you get it!

So if you payed for a better lens you will get more power out.
because the laser has the Aixiz Acrylic lens, not the Aixiz Glass, Nor a Meredith Glass/Plastic.markdam said:

If you are talking about the one a few posts above that went to Spike, that one did measure out a little hotter that normal. There will be slight differences between diodes.
Yours is right in there where the average is. Remember that I told you it would be between 245mW's and 250mW's if I set it at that current? Believe me, at that power, you won't be able to tell the difference between 246mW' vs 256mW's!

Yours is normal (average power expectation)... Seems that these 'long open can' diodes are all about the same. Just slight differences between each diode no matter which sled/brand, as long as it is the long open can.
I normally get 300mW's @ 430mA's with a Meredith glass lens. (although I have had a couple of diodes reach this at 420mA's)
Your DDL driver is putting out 419mA's, giving 289mW's with the Meredith glass lens.
Use 3.6 volt rechargeable batteries with this build. (included)
The Uranium marble is for your blu-ray (or future blu-ray)

Postal person delivered my package from Jay today and I have to say that everything is very professional.
Jay is very detailed and his build is A++ in every way. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Jay posted an image of my build but I just have to post my own obligatory image.
The beem is OUTSTANDING but being a newb to imaging laser beams ('specially red lasers) I didn't have much success and I will try again.
I did use some black costruction paper attempting to take my beem shots to try and limit the reflection (from about three feet from the lens), after about 10 seconds there was a smell in the air.
Burnt a hole in my paper! [smiley=sad.gif]
I used some white printer paper on the back side of the constuction paper to show the hole.
I would recommend one of Jay's builds to anyone looking for a quality laser and no nonsence.
A+++ all the way.
