Not sure if this is your first high powered burner or not, but just as a reminder to any new ones out there...

These builds can be very dangerous! Proper eye protection is recommended (even for burning). Please don't shine it at people, or even animals. A direct eye shot can blind you pretty much instantly...

Anyway, let me know when you get it!

Got it yesterday Bro. Just freaking awesome! Thanks a million! I'm already thinking about one of your blu-rays since you live so freaking close! We'll talk soon.

Good deal man...Just let me know!

Keegan, the new FlexDrives came today! I got your build ready. Nice choice...going with the Meredith glass lens for your blu-ray!

Keegan 8-18-08.jpg

Set at 101mA's, it's getting 115.4mW's.

This is my best guess for the power using my LPM-1 meter. I have a Coherent PowerMax 5200 digital read meter on it's way to me! It has the Coherent PM3 thermal sensor.

I will have both of my meters 'dialed in' soon enough... There is an excellent meter calibration experiment in progress:

Anyway, I am sending your laser possibly tomorrow. If I don't make it to the Post Office tomorrow, then Monday for sure. (no batteries, no warning label - as we discussed)

Jerry M., I had some time last night and this morning. I got your awesome FlexDrive build done!

Jerry M. 8-30-08.jpg

Using my Coherent PM5200 meter, it's measuring 250mW's steady. Nice! (I put my normal white dot of paint to mark the 5' focal point)

Monday is a holiday, but the Post Office may be open today. I'm going to go down there and drop it off! As long as they are open (normally till noon on Saturday), it will be in today's mail! Let me know when you get it...

Tomius, your diode was a nice one! I re-measured the DDL driver at 416mA's. Your getting 253mW's steady through your AixiZ glass lens!

I think you will like it :)...

As Dave said, there are a few options. My personal choice for Red, is the FlexDrive driver with a Meredith acrylic lens. This combination can be fit in several different hosts. Take a look here:
http://www.sonic.net/~jayrob/MXDL/

There are blu-ray options as well! :D

Re: FS: 300mW MXDL Open Can Lasers With Heatsink

Richard B., I got your FlexDrive/Meredith build done...

Richard Burton 9-29-08.jpg

Usually at 436mA's, the power will be around 250mW's through the acrylic lens. This has been very consistent.

Yours measured at 262mW! This is an extra 'HOT' diode! I even took it apart and re-checked the current. Lol!

I almost kept this for myself, because it's a rare diode. But since I have an unusual diode already (277mW's @ 452mA's), it's coming your way! :)

It will be in Monday's mail...
Jay

P.S. Use a conservative duty cycle with this monster.

Greg M., I got yours done too!

Your's is the normally expected ouput for this current. It is an excellent build, and I am sure you will like it! :)

Please take the time to read my included instruction sheet, and let me know when you receive it. Shipping Monday...

Hey Jay, where do you get your lens caps? I have seen IgorT even has some fluorescing GITD ones. Any info on either of these would be appreciated. Keep up the good work!

Got it!!!

OMG!!!

This is incredible!!!

Burned a whole in an old 3.5 disk in about 2 seconds!

I clearly see now why the focusable lens is better.

Thanks!! We will do business again for sure.

To anyone considering doing biz with JayRob:

This guy is top notch, order was completed quickly with lots of communication and all questions answered same day. I was blown away with his attention to detail and promptness. Too bad every one providing a service to the customer doesn't have his attitude.

Thanks JayRob!!! (RB)

PS!!! EVERYONE!!! He is not kidding when he warns you about these tools. They are not TOYS!!! You can easily blind yourself or someone else in a fraction of a second. Permanent and SERIOUS Damage will occur far faster than your blink reflex if you catch this beam in the eye even from a reflection and even diffuse scatter is dangerous!!! GET laser glasses from Wicked LAser BEFORE you start using your laser. Got mine for only 30 bucks and they arrived within a week. BE SAFE!!!

Thanks for that nice testimonial Sledge! :) Very glad you like the laser...

Spike, your going to like yours too! I put my customary small dot of white paint to mark the 5' focal point.

This is my first time trying the LG 20X long open can diode. As you can see from the labeled current and power reading, it is excellent!

I'll have it in today's mail for you. (Thursday)
