[No Longer For Sale] FS: "The Heart of Anubis" 635nm 500mW Torch

Up for sale here is a laser I call the Heart of Anubis. Why? Anubis, the jackal God of the afterlife, was known to weigh one's heart against a feather. If your heart was heavier than the feather, then you were not pure enough to proceed to the afterlife and your soul would be devoured by Ammit. Anyway, the head of the jackal God Anubis was always portrayed as that of a thin, black jackal (derp). The color of this torch (black) mixed with the light red color of the emitted-beam (resembling the color of the heart as depicted by the Egyptians), lead me to the name the Heart of Anubis. And because it sounds cool. That too.

Some of you may recognize this as the host/heatsink combination I had for my "infinite duty-cycle" LOC. I figured the LOC diode wasn't worth the FlexDrive or the unique heatsink (belongs in a cheaper build ) and so I decided to strip that of its parts, re-set the FlexDrive, and stick a Mitsubishi 300mW diode in it!

Anyway, the laser has the following specs:
Wavelength: 635nm
Power: 500mW
Lens: Aixiz Glass, AR coated for 635-660nm
Driver: FlexDrive, set to 1A
Divergence: Horrible - what do you expect from these lasers?
Duty Cycle (drops below 500mW): 60 seconds on, 30 seconds off
Heatsink: Large, aluminum, finned

Awesome pictures, but honestly, Heart of Anubis? I was expecting something more exciting to go with the name, I mean it's not even all black, or gold.

Meh =p I have a thing for Egyptian mythology (or mythology in general). And hell - it's just a name ^_^

Oh I know. I'm also a bit of a nut when it comes to mythology. I guess that's why it seemed off to me... I was expecting something a lot more egyptian in scale or motif I suppose
