The BLUE build from the "Dyad of Xen" thread.

- 1.5W (1500mW) 445nm Xeno Build -

I've decided to sell one of the two lasers from the "Dyad of Xen" thread I posted a few weeks back here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f48/dyad-xen-635-600mw-445-1500mw-72330.html#post1041643

I had been wanting to build in Xeno hosts for some time, as they're among the nicest I've encountered. The square threading is just beautiful, and the textured grip is unlike anything I've encountered with other AA/14500 form factor hosts. The Xeno line has some of the nicest lights around, and it turns out they make beautiful lasers.

The hosts are expensive to buy. I initially found it odd to think that one host (like this Xeno) could cost 5x or 6x the price of a C6, or a WF501. But when I finally bought it and saw it in the flesh, in person, it was really clear what I had paid for. Xeno's remarkable attention to detail justified it for me. Everything is very "precise". Threads are smooth, lines are clean.

This build uses a 1085 based ULDO driver, and requires 2x 14500 unprotected cells. It's important to use good cells that conform to the 14500 sizing spec. Some cheap TrustFires (etc) ignore the 14500 spec, and may not fit well. The AW IMRs fit perfectly. The laser meters at 1500mW, as tested on both a LaserBee and an Ophir. It comes with a 3-element 445nm coated lens. If you want a G1, I'm always happy to add one for $50 extra.

You MUST own laser protection goggles appropriate for this wavelength, and
You MUST be over 20 years of age, and
You MUST be familiar and experienced with the appropriate safety precautions to take with lasers of this power.
You MUST NOT be a resident of Canada

This is not a laser pointing device. At all times, protective laser safety glasses appropriate for this wavelength must be worn by the operator. This laser should not be used around 3rd parties (non-operators) pets, or for any recreational purpose.

This laser is meant to be used as a portable laser light source for rough calibration of systems that require a high amount of laser light as an input. This laser's purpose is to serve as a reference for high powered laser light approaching, but not to exceed a maximum of 5W.

Hey Cobra,

I'm sorry to say that I'm not comfortable selling to you.

You have (in other threads) talked about these lasers being novelties, and have asked about qualities like burning ability, etc. These lasers are not novelties, and should never ever be treated as such. They can be dangerous if misused.

Further, I see that you have two negative reps from two members that I respect highly. That on it's own is enough to make me uncomfortable with the sale. My apologies, but I won't make this particular sale.

Thanks OffRoad!

I'm just not comfortable with the sale for the reasons outlined.

no sir you didnt call me any names. the guy that gave me bad feedback did.

sorry for the misunderstanding.

its kinda silly not to sell to me. if not from you then i will get one from someone else or i will purchase new from a company.

im trying to do my research. im learning, kinda sad that some will hold this against someone. we were all "new" at this one time.

please consider my offer

Welcome to LPF! They (we) are tough on new people sometimes. It's the way it is when a forum gets as much traffic as this. Sit back and try to get a feel for things before you jump in the middle.

Most users that sell lasers here try to be responsible when selling. Most of them will want to get to know you and make sure you are going to treat the thing in a responsible way.

Not only can you injure yourself, but others around you. Safety glasses for the correct wavelength will go a long way to prove you are responsible enough for someone here to sell you a laser.

good sound advise. its cool i have thick skin so my feelings do not get hurt easily.

i understand that lasers can be just as dangerous as a gun or knife. i would take great lengths to make sure it is used in a safe fashion.

im glad to be here

These hosts are AWESOME rhd:)!! I have a Xeno G10 host that is in the "warm" Kelvin range and one in the "cool white". I use the "cool white" all the time. The "warm" is just not bright enough for me and I would like to use it for a 2W 445 build.
Excellent work as always man:beer:;)!!
