Ok, so I'm new as is finally getting around to registering, but I have lurked around off and on for a couple years. I had a 150mw red I built awhile back, but either it was stolen or lost. I'm now looking for either a quick easy diy or a complete build.

I really like jayrob's builds as well as IgorT's builds, but I'm not completely sure what kind of prices I'm looking at right now. But I know I don't really want to spend much more than $100. But if it's something really nice, I would consider a little more.

What I'm looking for in a laser is something that will be focusable or adjustable. Burning will not be the main use. I will be using it almost exclusively outside. Mainly I just want something that will throw a good sized laser a long way, and the body to have some mass and look nice.

If anyone could point me in the right direction or give me some suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated! :)

Ok If you want something for star gazing go green. If you want something cheap that is going to burn go red. If you want a nice violet go with a custom build from the forum. Check o-like and rayfoss they always have reasonable prices.

Who would be the best to go to for me? Like I said I don't really mind putting the pieces together. But if I do get one from a senior member, who would be a good for me? (not that you have to endorse anyone, I can see that the members here have a HUGE amount of respect and courtesy for each other, which is a nice change to see on the internet!)

I guess I should state that I'm probably looking for a green or a violet. Very pleasing to the eye!

www.rayfoss.com

O-Like, Quality Products, Great Prices

Like previously stated, Cruise the B/S/T section, or click the links I just provided you, they offer the best "bang for your buck"

Thanks, I will be on the look out. I need to re-familerize myself with nm and other laser info. I have gotten a little rusty :( I will have to do some searching for that info, but I don't think it will be too hard to find. :thanks: again
