Have you tried to crack one open to see how much potential there is? Really wonder how far these diodes could be pushed safely.

Probably around 100mw if they're phr diodes or similar. At $9 you should probably just buy one and see.

I've already got one coming, just trying to figure out if I should be ordering more of them ;)

lol ill ask him and report what he says, im glad everyone has enjoyed them. now im debating buying another one to pot mod if people report it works well, or building my own

Took mine apart but havent messed with the pot yet lol. Focusing the beam it slowly burned a black ruber cell phone case (all I had). Sorry about the images only had my phone.
I killed it lol but not from the pot mod, was to rough when i was taking it apart lol.

I ordered 2 as well, one was extremely dim. I'll be sending it back for a replacement as well. I'm pleased with the other though. Seems stable.

Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered the combo deal as well.
I didn't have a 405nm yet so this will be interesting to compare to my others.
I paid almost this much just for my cheap 532nm.
Low power or not, It will be interesting to compare.

I had a $8 5mW newish pen whit an output of 85m - it sucks if someone think to buy something with low output to be safe
I was damn happy :D

Hi, I'm fairly new to lasers, got a <1mW Green handheld and a Red handheld that I assume is <1mW (got it free with the green).
I've been wanting a Blue/Violet laser but am in the UK, but have an american friend who could ship the laser in the OP to me, they dont know jack bout lasers though. Do you recon the laser is likely to be fine (as it wont be able to be checked before arriving in England)? I've read all the posts and not sure whether it'd be OK after what people have been saying about the divergence (not that I'm entirely sure what it means, thinking it's how focused the dot looks when it hits a surface).

Do you recon I should go for it?

You should be fine. People are getting them all the time in the UK.

imo the divergence isnt to bad at all and its focusable if you want to take it apart, on mine there was a big circle but it was around the dot.
