I did not see in your post over @ CPF. What is the max discharge rate on the 3100mAh?
 
On his website dtr it says the 3100's have a max discharge rate of 6.2A

Whether or not there's a legal issue here, it's obnoxious. It's a gross sticker, and totally kills the deal for me.

If you want to drum up sales on LPF, I suggest you send some free samples to a couple reputable members of this forum for review.

Short answer, no its not illegal to put a sticker on a product and re-sell it. AW Redilast and Xtar all use other brands cells (panasonic and sanyo) put protection circuits on them and re-sell them.

When possible none of the manufacturer markings are covered up like on the tabbed batteries and the IMR's. Protected batteries have to be covered with an outer wrap. We actually tried to get clear wraps to show they are Panasonic cells but they where not available.

The reason for putting stickers on the batteries is pretty simple, to direct people to our website to buy batteries :wave:

I'm consistently surprised by how many sellers come on LPF happily touting their wares, yet how few are able to stomach any criticism. It's as if everyone feels entitled to our attention, just so long as our attention is quiet and approving.

We're a very critical bunch, but we're not being unkind or intentionally hurtful. We're often just a little "unfiltered". So if two or three of us have commented on the ugliness of your stickers, there's a good chance that a whole bunch of potential customers elsewhere have thought the same (and neither bought your product, nor voiced their opinion).

That said, not everyone will feel the same. I personally don't like to advertise for anyone. You didn't build these batteries, you're just selling them. If any retailer stuck their logo on an item made by someone else, just to garner attention for themselves as an intermediary, I wouldn't buy from them. Doesn't make a difference to me whether we're talking about a tie from Holt Renfrew, or batteries from some rando website ;)
