Okay so as some of you know i have been working on a new driver.
This driver i designed had only a few rules.
As many features as possible and no high wattage components.
Well it is done.
There are 2 versions.
1 high powered 2a version and one lower powered 1a version.
The 1a version will fit inside an aixiz module where the other fits behind.
In this post we will be talking about the 2A version.
Feature list!
■ Up to 40 V input voltage
■ Less than 0.5 V voltage overhead
■ Up to 2 A output current
■ PWM dimming pin
■ Shutdown pin
■ LED disconnection diagnostic
■ Slope control with external cap (first batch is lacking this)
So now for some phone pics of the driver!
The driver has good thermal properties.
When driven with 2 3v cells it barley needs heatsinking for long run times.
When driven with 2 3.6v cells it can run for over 2-3min before the chip turns off.
I also have a 12mm round heatsink that is half moon shape that attaches to the driver so when it is slid in behind your diode it presses firmly to the wall and then has a constant duty cycle.
Order info:
The 2 drives for 15$ is for only 10 drivers. once 16 driver has been sold they will no longer sell like this.
Shipping in the USA will be 2$
shipping out side the USA without tracking will be posted shortly.
After 16 units / 8 sets have been sold they will go back to 15$ for 1 or maybe 10$ for 1.
I Set the current before shipment.
Current value.
1970.60
1670.60 (waiting on shipment)
1570.60
1470.59
1000.00
500.00
100.00
so please state the power you want them set at
or you can as for them unset and use your own 805smd resistor
Now the driver has interesting features such as the shut down pin.
When the shutdown pin get zero power the laser turns off.
When used with the correct thermistor you could even build it so when the diode gets past a certain temp the driver is force shut off.
This driver is capable of monitoring not only the drivers temp but also the temp of the laser with this mod.
These are not just used for pointers.
I have them in my scanner using the PWM as TTL, and it works perfectly.
Also the PWM port allows me to use the programed led driver memory chips to give this driver the ability to have modes.
