Ok.. I want to buy/borrow a LPM asap! I have a few different AR coated lens coming in next week, and I need to some how measure their efficiency and also their power increase. This is a little peek, preview, but I might be able to get some nice AR coated lens, for cheaper then anyone can offer here!:shhh:

But I need a LPM to make sure these are ready to roll before committing to buying in bulk! So would any one be up for letting me borrow the LPM??

Here's the deal! If you let me borrow your LPM, you can have 5-10 free lens (worth over $100), will discuss this in more detail later! (I prefer is you live in Australia, since shipping is faster and cheaper :D)

If I can buy a LPM it needs to be express shipped to me, cause I need it asap! Otherwise I will have to only accept shipping within Australia! Not to mention at a good price, since I only need this for a few days then I have no use for it, and only reason I can not use the 120mw calibrated LPM is because my lasers that I will be testing are going to be over 150mw and even higher with the lens! Also yes I know about the ND lens, but they drop accuracy, and with this kind of situation, accuracy is the most important thing!

Thanks in advance! -Adrian

Ahhh, I understand... so instead of being accurate to within 0.01mw it is now accurate to within 1mw, is that correct? Also does ND8 mean it drops the lights intensity by a factor of 8? I'm assuming so... If this is the case I think my grand father has some ND8 camera lens, they might do the trick!

I'm sure that was a typo...
The normal non ND filtered resolution of the 120mW LPM Module is 0.1mW..

As I mentioned elsewhere on the Forum... The ND filter that you will
use should be tested for a specific Laser Wavelength as I outlined in
the Link I supplied above..

We have noticed that all Photographic ND filters are not the same at
all wavelengths..

woops yep my bad typo :D

from ebay...

can check Lasers from 0.1mW to 120mW output power in 0.1mW increments.
With a cheap ND Filter you could measure over 200mW.

Also I didn't pick up on that in your post.. soz. So what will be my best bet? since I cant check with the LPM because my laser is 150mw+ I can't tell the ratio that the ND drops to... *sigh*. Its for a 405nm laser BTW, I tried ebay and i have found this lens...

77mm 77 CPL ND4 Circular Polarizer ND UV Filter Set NEW - eBay Neutral Density, Filters, Lenses Filters, Cameras Photo. (end time 04-Nov-09 08:34:58 AEDST)

It seems to block UV... I figured 405nm is close to UV it would be sufficient.. do you think this is a possible candidate?

AHHHH F@$%... damn, must pay more attention!

Guess my only option is if some one let me borrow theirs, or if i can find a cheap one locally... otherwise I will have to ship the lens off to someone with a LPM... but I kinda wanted to do it my self.

Ah, see about now I'd let you borrow my LPM, since I'm in Australia and all.

The problem is my LPM is currently sitting in Tasmania at my parents house under a big pile of laser junk, and I'm in Canberra. I'd have to get my parents to find it, distinguish it from all the similar looking electronic stuff and send it up.

I know there are other Australians with LPMs that can be more helpful, but if none of those guys are around in the next few days to offer it maybe I'll try and scrounge up my LPM.
