Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts - 5A Foward Switches

Hi,

Now Featuring Our Own 5A Forward Clickys!!!

I will be using this thread to list custom hosts that my dad makes as they come off the lathe. This thread will likely be constantly updated with new work ready for sale, so keep an eye out. We also take custom work, so if you see something you like, but want to tweak it, send me a PM and we'll make something that is perfect for you!

If you want a complete laser, we also coordinate builds with scumbagatheist, and can send him the host so he can finish it and send you a complete laser.

Note: There are some of these no longer in stock but we can reproduce any of them per your request.

Add Anodizing for $20
Our anodizing is much better now, and we are only user pro-grade dyes that won't fade. The finish is hard, and we polish it before anodizing and afterwards to give it a nice, lasting shine.

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

Thanks guys! Prices will likely have a large range depending on the build. Since these are all custom builds, they will be more time consuming. We are trying to pick a design that we will do a larger run on and have for sale cheaper since they will be less time consuming to produce.

The top one is going to be $150, it is probably getting a focus knob yet. If there were a good deal of people interested in that model, we could do a run of them and get price down.

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

You should make some pen size hosts, for the SM 445nm & 520nm diodes that dont require a large mass.

What battery configuration do you have in mind? And tailswitch or side switch?

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

Pen hosts should have a side clicky imo.
A tailcap switch would be smaller than the diameter of the pen, right? So, no good for 2xAAA or 2xAA pens.
I'd like a pen host.

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

I totally agree!

Side switch and a few models: 1x10440, 2x10440, 1x14500/2xcr2, 2x14500

Mainly the singles for me, but some will want the 2x hosts.

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

We may look into that. The biggest issue is dealing with the switch. I'd also rather not make too many different sizes. I am okay with varying battery tube lengths, but different diameters would tend to be more of a hassle.

Awesome collection of polished beauties you've got there!
I've got to agree, the first one is beast, nice work.

As ped mentioned, some custom pen size hosts would also be nice for a change. :)

Re: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts

I have a rough concept sketched. Probably 4-5" long and 7/8 diameter. 5/8 ID battery tube.

Re: FS: Mrcrouse's Completely Custom Hosts - Fresh off the Lathe

Smoothie, Groovy, and Stacker Hosts added!

Also, feel free to make reasonable offers.

Also, please comment and let me know which hosts you really like. We are trying to pick a model to do a ~20 host run of. If you guys are all interested in one, then we can make a bunch of that model and be able to offer much lower prices.

Favorite are the zaser and stacker, least is the probe.

Any prototypes of a 10440 host?
