Was working fine. Now after a few seconds of being turned on the laser starts to strobe. Still extremely bright though, so the diode is OK. There may be a problem with the driver. I only have one crap 18650 to test it with and I do not have the time or the patience to figure this out. I was thinking about selling it anyway. I'd rather just sell it as probably needing a new driver than ship it to someone to have them fix it, wait to get it back, then turn around and sell it... although if no-one wants it in it's current state that is what I will do. Asking 170 shipped. 48 contiguous states in the US only. Will be sent via Priority Mail with tracking and signature confirmation.

There is one tiny nick in the host. See pic.

Features:

Jayrob Copper heatsink
Aixiz new 400-460nm coated lens
A140 diode
Microboost driver set at 1A

Im new, but been reading everything I can get my hands on. Its my understanding that strobing is usually a current problem, I suspect battery or connectors. Just my inexperienced $0.02.

Yep definatly a battery problem... get a better brand of batteries and replace it. You should see a big improvement.

Interesting. I'd still rather sell it as possibly malfunctioning than order some better batteries to test it. I've lost my patience with it. :banghead:

Yeah, I'd agree. I have 3 different types of 18650s and some are better than others. The "not so good" ones cause it to strobe. IMHO you might be better off getting a good 18650 battery, then you could probably get at least $200 for it.

I'd still rather sell it as possibly needing a new driver or having a weak connection for less. I need the cash now. :D

I never could figure out what causes this :(
If you leave it turned on with it strobing, does it eventually turn go completely out?

Not sure. I did let it strobe for several minutes just to see what happens but it got boring so I put in a fresh battery :D
