Im Looking For Micro-Step Scanning Motors, Like the kind that you would find in those cheap Chinese Scanners..you all know what I am talking about...

Has anyone ever found a place where One would be able to purchase the "KIT" meaning dmx board w/ programs and the scanners and amps? I have to imagine that if you could purchase this that it would be cheap as they sell complete lasers w/ these on ebay for under $100--Even if it wasn't DMX and only sound activated??

In case you don't know what I am talking about im talking of the "Scanners" from this laser

I'd send an Email directly to Shinp ( sales@szshinp.com ) - If you set up an account with them (you will of course need the required business credentials) I'm sure Aimee would set you up with the parts.

That SL2 you're showing the pic of sells for $38US complete in case quantity (8pcs) so I'd assume the stepper setup would be much less if they would sell it to you - maybe the approach (as a hobbyist) would be to say you have an SL2 that's out of warranty, etc and you want to purchase the parts or something to that effect ...

Good Luck - you might also want to consider just buying the SL2 outright, btw, the driver can be cranked to 380mA so with a 12/18mm heatsink it's an easy drop-in for a LOC or LCC diode and you have a 250mW+ system for around $75 (not including shipping)

And BTW, the model we are talking about is not DMX capable, that starts with the SL5 in the single-laser series and I believe the DL22+ in the double's

Seriously, they're REALLY decent with their customers (I'm assuming you're working with Aimee or Amie or however she spells it today) - the DL22 at $75USD is a great starting point for mods, BTW, the dual driver board can be cranked to over 320mA if you want to drop in a pair of LOC diodes and end up with a half-watt dual red system for like $100, also the CL16RGY is a really REALLY nice base for GVB builds... PM me if you ever need help with mods on these units - I've pretty much torn almost all of them apart at one time or another!

Glad I could help, and the only thing I'd warn you of is their shipping costs, make sure you order at least 6pcs if you are going to buy systems, anything less is still the same amount $$$-wise to ship (IE 2pcs is the same cost as 6pcs) but on that same note, anything between 6-10pcs is only a marginal difference (follow?) ... I think my last order of 6 systems was just over $170 for UPS Express but that was all midsize stuff so if you are ordering SL's or whatnot you could probably get away with a bit less shipping-wise.

Oh yeah - don't fall in love with the DL100 (like I did) - they're oversized so somewhere in the neighborhood of $250 EACH to ship (at least via express, "Slow boat" could be less I'm sure but who wants to wait 4-6 weeks for their lasers!) ;D
