Hey everyone,

I am interested in buying a solid greenie. I don't want to spend more than $80. If anyone has a decent greenie they'd like to sell please let me know. Thanks.

What power are you looking for? If you decide to go with DX (the link potatorage posted), then ask us before ordering because not all of the green lasers from DX are good.

this is true even the 'true' lasers are hit and miss.

sometimes they give you a non new wish which may be brilliant or rubbish but spews out loads of IR or you can get a new wish which is lower powered but slightly more reliable if you ont get one with a dimmign problem...

out of 9 DX lasers I have bought 5 have been either DOA or faulty....

Ask for a used greenie, around 50mW. You should get it and it should be on your budget. If not, just get the DX 30mW greenie.

If you buy from DX you should avoid all of the untrue penlasers and pot-modded crap. Generally the cr123A flashlight style lasers and the cr2 cylinder lasers are good. The focusable baton style green lasers are also good if you have a bit more money to spend.

These are all in your budget, but don't expect them to arrive soon, KD is notorious for slow handling times.

50mW
100 mW NewWish
50mW CR123A
And probably one of KD's best lasers, the 50mW Edwina, this lasers has gotten many good reviews, and has good heatsinking. But a general rule of thumb is to stay away from cheap pen style lasers as most suffer from dimming problems, but all of these lasers are fairly well heatsinked, so dimming caused by overheating shouldn't be an issue.

I dont make lasers or have a vested interest in selling them but.......If you are going to get a laser go with the 405nm blue-violet that has been all the craze around here. It is absolutely the most fun to mess around with. I have a 250mw green that is cool looking at night but the blu-ray is my love. I take it to bed with me every night and give my wife a light show. With all the top notch talent, products and advice here you could assemble your own for under $100 I'm sure. I hear you must be meticulous with anti-static measures.

I ordered that 100mw newwish 46 days ago and they still haven't shipped it. AVOID KD if you want your laser within a month.

The only problem with something like an X-15 is that it can't be too overspec because the next laser is an X-25, but ya never know, Nova might send out 30mW X-15's, and send out 40mW X-25's.

I'd be cool with a 24mW X15, or even a 16mW. =D As long as it's over 15mW that's overspec.

Thank you for all your input everyone.. I appreciate it. I was looking at the true 50mw from DX. What do you guys think about this laser? Also, what are the chances US Customs will confiscate it when being shipped to the United States?
