well, the topic says it all, i am looking for 635nm diodes..
it should be in 5.6mm (or less preferable 9mm) case and singlemode.
so far i only know two sources at all!

-aixiz would be 10mw (module) for 30$ plus 5.50$ shipping.

-roithner would be 20mw (diode only) for 31$ plus 20$ shipping plus 20% on that plus moneytransfercosts.

anyone has/knows another source? perhaps more than 10mw, and in a reasonable all-in-all pricerange, shipping to germany?

someone wants to trade? one kes300 diode, one unopened kes300 sled, a bag of IR burner diodes, several red burnerdiodes, 8x 10440 lithium cells plus charger, complete red burners in hosts, a dichroic cube to combine all three colors, perhaps other stuff i didnt remember right now.

Atlasnova.com has like 5mw modules for 6 bucks, the ones that dont meet there spec. You could diffidently try to push a couple of them with proper heat sinc.

and just get a regular lens for it.

You dont need a normal lens as the line generator is in front of the lens.

huh?!? those 635nm 10mw line modules at aixiz are 15$ now? i had a look right before i wrote that post, and didnt see them! thanks a lot for the hint! :)

hmm, 5mw would be too little.. i can barely accept 10mw ;-)

i already killed a 20mw 635nm diode twice.. i ripped a leg off while harvesting it. soldered a new one on it, was a pita! then, working again, it died at perhaps 22mw, being rated 20mw! it was heatsinked and monitored with a powermeter.. so i dont feel like overdriving 635nm diodes at the moment.. ;-)

Information unlimited has a 635nm 10mw laser diode. Its $30 and 10 for shipping.
I was also looking to get some 635nm diodes from roithner. The shipping charges are crazy. $60 for 3 diodes and some cheap optics.

heh, whats "decently priced"? and, the even more important question: singlemode or multimode? if the first, go with a dpss, not? i wonder what the highest output in sm would be.. wild guess, less than 100mw..?

These have been up for quite some time now. Daguin measured the output at 8mW I believe he said. It looks brighter because of the color, but at least its not 5! The 5mW measured at 3mW btw. Check my thread I started earlier in the general section, Sony just came out with a 7.2W 635LD, but I'm not sure if you want to spend 100k or what ever it might cost to get one. ;D

But the Aixiz module is the best power for the buck right now for the 635nm. I know there are some high powered C-mounts but I'm sure its not technically feasible either (economically and constrictively). You're going to have to rebuild your 22mW or accept the 8mW, the technology just isn't there, unfortunately. The laser hobby isn't demanding enough, not to mention not very practical. :(

found something new:

50x 9mm can diodes, "most of them" being 635nm 15mw. as well 650 and 819nm diodes in that lot. buy-it-now for 199$, sell these diodes one-by-one in BST, and send me one, two of the 635nm ones! ;-)
oh, i volunteer to test a few 635nm ones to max output too, have a powermeter ;-)

I'd be interested in two 635's.

If one could buy the lot for $150 and assume that "most" are 635, that could be 26 good LD's plus 24 ????.
Forgetting the 24 and considering only 26 of the 635's at $150, Thats about $6 per diode. Sell the scrap later...

This seller does PLT laser diodes, genuine article as I've bought a few. The link is for a 650nm LD but they often have high powered 635nm laser diodes as well. Generally anything over 300mW is multimode though so check first.

i would take several from you, ray.
there are several people on lpf searching for 635nm diodes, i am sure you would sell them all if you wanted.

thanks in advance! :)

i ordered 10x 7mw 635nm modules, the small brass aizix style from ebay, seller virtualvillage. they have a website very similar to DX. what i got were regular red ones, the dot looks exactly the same to my 650nm modules directly from aizix, and the module itself looks absolutely identical too.
wrote them a mail, i'll report back if they do have real 635nm ones.
