Looking For a 405nm burner

Im looking for a violet pointer , atleast 200mw and focusable. If anyone has anything they would consider letting go let me know! I would prefer a U.S. based seller thanks!

Please answer the following:

A) What is your budget for this laser?

B) Do you need it by a certain time?

C) Are you looking to buy one from a website or would you consider a custom build from one of the many fine builders on this forum? The latter would be my suggested option.

D) Do you already have safety goggles with a proper OD rating to protect your eyes? >200mW 405nm may seem harmless but it's the farthest thing from it. You WILL need proper eye protection with a laser like that.

E) How important to you is the focusable aspect of the laser? If you're looking for a 405nm burner, I'd say adjustable focus (and a focus adapter for your fingertips' sake) tops the feature list in priority.

Based on your answers to these, I (and I'm sure multiple others) will be able to find you an excellent match.

jakeGT: ya, 405 burns VERY well. When I made my 405, I set it at 125mA, and it burned a lot better( a LOT better than my 200mW red).

My budget is around 150$, i dont currently have a pair of safety glasses specifically for 405 but i do own 532 and 600-700nm glasses. If you have any suggestions on good safety glasses for 405 i would appreciate it. I have been using my 532 glasses for my yobresal 445(absolutely love that thing)... is that a good idea? Anyways i would actually prefer a member build , have a feeling its gonna be better than some of the chinese pieces of junk ive recieved lately. Being able to focus would be a major plus for me. 532 glasses WILL NOT work for 445.
I got the wide range "eagle pair" but they don't do 532 so.... Its a bit of a toss up but you should really get another pair for 445 and 405.
Pretty dangerous without glasses, even more so with the wrong ones.

Ok ill definitely look into those. Reason why I was using that pair was because I bought them off eBay. It was labeled 532nm blue and green laser safety. Good thing I haven't had time lately to mess with them. Thanks

When you're not sure about whether or not a pair of safety goggles offer sufficient protection from a certain power/wavelength, always assume the worst. If you want to gamble, go to Vegas; don't gamble with your vision.

On a budget of $150, you should be able to easily find yourself a 6X or higher with adjustable focus and everything you want/need. This is mostly due to the prices on BR diodes shooting down tremendously in recent times. My suggestion is looking through JayRob's offerings in the Pro-Shop section to find a host that you like, and then finding someone to make the build for you (if the builder can't provide the diode, I recommend O-Like.com). There are many other options that would suit you on this budget, but seeing as I'm on my iPhone right now, smothering you with links is something I'll have to do when I'm behind a computer.

TekniklyRaul's offer also sounds promising, although not having yet seen the host, personally, the price seems a tad steep for an 8X with a plastic lens. Idk maybe it's just my brain starting to get tired and mess with me. Heck, if you like the host (and it has a focus adapter to spare your fingertips some unnecessary pain), I'd say go for it; it's already built and as long as you two aren't on opposite ends of the world, it should be in your hands sooner rather than later.
