and yeah urvi, you need a 405-g1 SO bad, it'l get rid of that conical beam crap. fixed mine ^_^

If I wanted to drive an 8x at 375-385ma right now , would you choose a flexdrive 4 or a Rkcstr ?

no no! i wasnt yelling, i smply dont want the same thing to happen. it is hard to convey tone of voice through text, i appologize. and i will sell you the parts at cost.

ARENA: an 8X would INSTANTLY die at that current. never breach 280... and even thats a 50/50 gamble. i would go with 250-260mAh with a 405G1 lens for about 375mWish

maybe i got my #'s mixed up, but the graph is right there, interesting to know the day before i get my 8x diode. i will give this a shot at about 350, and see how she compares to the graph you linked. Great post!

WTFman OMG! Those diodes are delicate!!! Btw if you guys buy any graphics cards, there should be anti static bags in there if you don't want to buy any, theres one down i guess

Yes those bags are a must if you get into laser electronics. You can get them on ebay for quite cheap. Definitely a good investment.

Let me know how that driver is coming along dark. I appreciate it man.
