Ouch… Yeah I did the same thing last week, I put 2-18350 batteries in my 405nm host and blew the diode just like that, saw a QuickFlash of it. So I contacted DTR got a new one

that sucks man, on the bright side you wont do that again. im nervous to burn my diodes out as well. i think even the most experienced builders are. they need to make resilient diodes

Brian I am sorry you had this happen to you. S#!T happens and there is nothing we can do about it. When this type of things happen to me I just want to throw whatever I am doing out the window, just because I can't throw myself out because it would hurt.
Next time it won't happen anymore that is for sure....
