Hey f22.... why don't you put your LaserBee I up for sale on the Forum
right away... then you wouldn't need to wait to order a Kenometer...
There is always a Forum member looking for a used LaserBee I...:yh:

Because honesty jerry I love my laser bee but the problem with it is the fact it only goes up to 1 w and messing with the 50/50 beam splitter is a pain......but other than that I just tested it against a 2k$ coherent power meter and at 900mw it was only off by 40mw low that's only a -4.4% error for something that was 1/10 the cost and I think with the 50/50 beam splitter I metered it around 1795mw and my laser was putting out 1779mw on the coherent but that was at different times so who knows if anything changed in the lasers since then.... and my 50/50 beam sitter isn't exactly 50 50 unless it's like at 85' to the incoming beam then it's around 45/55 so before I sell such a great product for another product I want to make sure it meets my current needs : ) where as the laser be does its just kind of a pain.

Man, I hate holidays...I'm going to see if I can scrap up $150 over the next day or two. Or maybe I can convince my gf to buy me an early x-mas present! Btw do you have pics of it complete?

Actually you can use a Glass ND Filter.. All you need to do is test the
ND filter's power reduction ratio... (a simple thing to do)...

But the accuracy check you did is good to hear...

Sorry about that side track on your Thread Ken...:yabbem:

@oOICEOo.... it will look the same as the Standard Kenometer but in a
smaller enclosure. Similar to Post #40 of this Thread..

Hey kenom will their be a way to upgrade from light to the USB version or only the full version? if your going to come out with a usb version and an upgrade i would be willing to buy a light right now if i sold my laser-bee
also is their a way to get a removable head for thos hard to reach places like in my scanner before the mirrors? or will this throw off the readings with air currents?

Yes there will be a way to upgrade to just the usb version. I have to have the head inside an enclosure of some sort as the airflow over the sensor has a tendency to make the readings fluctuate. I could make it very small for you to put inside your scanner.

Jerry not a problem. Threadjacks are a necessary thing. Can't squash the conversation if you want the thread to continue.

thanks for updating oOICEOo and mfo on looks of the Kenometer.

IMO I think the 2nd one looks the best : ).... third one looks like it would be hard to hit the sensor

Personally I love the look of the first picture.

Kenom, how long will you be offering the Lite's at that price? I really want one but I need some time to get the funds.

the third one's sensor would be offset to allow for a straight in shoot. However it IS a lot harder to do.

Rob, I should have this offer going for another week maybe 2. I wouldn't count too much on 2 weeks.

I like 1 best, followed by 2, and finally 3 (I guess that would be in order...lol).

They all look nice.

Good ol' SketchUp comes in handy, eh?

I like 1 and 2. Are the pros the same thing as the fulls? I prefer 2. If the sensor on 1 was in front I would like it better.

By the way, I sent payment for a kenometer lite.

Hey Ken....
I like the first one... It looks like a professional Lab LPM...IMO

On another note... Will your USB version have a USB interface on the Micro
Controller PCB or will you output RS232 Serial signals to a DB9 connector from
the PCB and use an RS232 to USB Converter Cable to supply the USB protocol
to a computer..

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. Updated with LITE version

The umber one looks more professional, imho ..... i just renew my suggestion, to put a cover or a short tube in front to the sensor (or also just to keep the sensor recessed some cm), then it's just perfect ;)

.... hey, wait, from where comes out the coffee ? ..... :p :D

@ lasersbee: maybe he can use one of the ready-to-use modules and integrate it in the main pcb, depend from what micro and bus he use .....

just as example (but there are a lot of them)

http://www.quickusb.com/
http://www.instantusb.com/
http://www.robot-electronics.co.uk/htm/usb_i2c_tech.htm
http://www.dontronics-shop.com/4d-micro-usb.html

And so on .....
