Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. LITE version continued

I've located a replacement source that is even in the states. So shipping will be fast. I've already ordered them and should be here in 2-3 days.

I would also like to state that the replacements are still blue and are still capable of up to 10W. so YAY!

Laserbee, I'd end up shipping yours express to make it before christmas.

Hurray! Glad you got the screens! Hopefully mine will come before christmas too.

What temperature (range) these Kenometers operate at? Will slightly higher/lower room temperature screw up the data?

sorry the zero offset is for the pro versions. However these heads never stray more than 3-4 mw. Most of the time they are literally at zero.

This is fine as all you have to do is subtract from your final reading or add based on the initial reading

Hey Ken,

Didn't you just outright pay for one?

Laserbee, your meters are ready and will ship on monday. Not much time but according to usps, express takes about 2-5 business days. We should still be able to make it.

Trust me You'll know. You'll get a tracking number.

I wanted to let everyone know that ordered these, that I'm hurrying as fast as I can to get these shipped ASAP. However I'm in the process of packing up my belongings and moving to a new city. I'll be attending University in Bozeman (200 miles from me now) and classes start on jan 14th. I'll be in my new apartment on the 8th and back to "building" right then.

As such, I'll also be gone from the forums for about 2-3 Weeks with very little activity. If you need to contact me, you can PM me and I get instant email updates.

Previously:

really the only difference on the lite version is the enclosure is slightly smaller. That's it.

So now I get a different host, no zero offset and you also tell there can be a delay.

Don't get me wrong, but I'd like to see more consistency in your words.

Re: Kenometer laser power meter interest. LITE version *Closed*

Terribly sorry. Most of these meters being so incredibly low in price, are utilizing surplus parts. I was given a bunch of enclosures for free and they are perfect for the meters.

Doing the offset on the lite requires more research (which would delay the meters even longer)

Don't get me wrong, I understand your concerns, and if your not happy with the wait, I'll be more than happy to refund your purchase price. The last thing I want is a dissatisfied customer. I want you to understand that even without an enclosure at all, no offset or display, this is still worth far more than $150. These thermopiles are BRAND NEW.

Not to mention, it is christmas next week so that would have been a delay anyway. I'm just extending it one week for my move.

Now I am confused too. What is the zero offset? Would it be possible to wait for the zero offset to be included?

You could wait yes.

The thermopile starts with a basic reading based on temp. the reading is usually 2 or 3 mw either + or -. the zero offset makes it so you can change that to zero and do your reading without having to add or subtract the initial reading. However it must be understood that the air temp changes constantly and after your laser starts reading the air temp could increase also skewing the readings. Even the straight from coherent units say they have an ambient temp variance. Since the head is very good and only varies by 4mw max based on ambient air temp, I decided that a zero offset was not needed. All you have to do is quickly subtract 4mw from the final reading if it's + and add 4mw if it's in the -.
