I was out at a very small FOB for a week, internet was only up a few minutes a day and probably 2 meg BW allowance from cell provider, I tried to get on here and post but could only get enough BW to read and rep for a small amount of time in the very early hours. Headed back to the main base now sitting in a helicopter waiting for the next leg, but got off that postage stamp base.

It's good to see you back. :) Take a pic for us please Alaskan. It's amazing what you are getting to do.

It's too bad you don't have the OC and HR mirrors for it. I think this is a reason that it might be difficult to sell.

I have both HR and T=20% OC mirrors, but I'm not sure that maximum power can be achieved with them. I think OC should be at least T=30%.

Bump. I can add mirrors (HR and OC T=20% for 1064nm) for free with K301V pumping chamber.

How can I make yellow from one of these? What mirrors and or filters would I need? Any suggestions?

I think the same mirrors and other optical elements for yellow DPSS can be used. The difference is in power and pumping method only, IMHO.

I bet if you could come up with a plan on how to make lots of 589 nm with this, giving technical info and sources for the parts this laser would sell quick.

At first it would be good to get 50W of 532nm from it. 589nm needs very special mirrors and NLO krystal, which are hard to get. As far as I know, the main complication is to make the YAG lase simultaniously at 1064 and 1319 nm, 1064 is dominant and easily takes away all lasing process on itself. Then a sum frequency generating crystal is needed, I even don't know what is it made of.

I have a coworker like that, exactly that, I hate being around him because of it! So how is it done to keep 1064 nm from doing that? Put a pass filter which allows more of that than 1064? Or perhaps a mirror which has far higher reflectivity to 1319 nm?

Laserbuilder, exactly. +rep

Alaskan, sounds like a nice co-worker.
Anyway there is no reason why you can't make a yellow with it. But as laserbuilder rightly said, 1064 is dominant and you will have trouble getting a substantial amount of 1319 to lase alongside it. Plus the optics are not cheap and are hard to get hold of as you know very well. Laserbuilder, do you know what coatings are on the rod itself?

As far as I know there can be two options. There can be AR coatings for 1064 nm, or no coatings at all. In USSR the developers of this unit didn't bother, they could just increase pumping power to compensate losses from the reflections on faces of the rod. One more moment in favor of the second version is that this pumping chamber either can lase at 1064 nm and give 130W or at 1319 nm with 30W of power. Just change the resonator mirrors.
